LEGACY CHRISTIAN CHURCH—2014
HOW YOUR MONEY BECOMES MINISTRY
We are passionately committed to loving
God and building relationships that impact
lives now and change them for eternity.
The impact that Legacy is having in the lives of people is amazing. Your generous
support makes that all possible. The mission God has given us in 2014 is exciting.
Only time will tell how many lives will be changed by the choices that we make. We
have the distinct joy to be a part of the most epic event in the history of humanity—
to share God’s love through Jesus.
God is the ultimate supplier of the resources we need to fulfill our mission and uses
each person who calls Legacy their church home as the means for supply. You are
invited to be a part as you invest your time, your talents, and your treasures.

Our mission is built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. It is coordinated by the efforts
of administration. Our vision is supported by five “pillars” - these are the key
elements of who we are and how our church is structured. Below you will find our
2014 budget summarized by the five pillars. By God’s grace, and your generosity,
together we can make a great difference in the lives of many in 2014.
“Where your treasure is, there
will your heart be also.”

Sharing God’s love during a Block Party
SHARE—$123,233
In the Great Commission, Jesus said, “Therefore go
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. “ He made it
clear that one of our greatest tasks is to share the
good news of God’s amazing love with as many people as we possibly can.
From those in our neighborhood, to those who live in the scattered places around
the globe, we want to make an impact in the lives of people. Your generosity helps
to monthly support missionaries in the Fiji Islands, Central America, Egypt, our
nation’s capitol, as well as giving support to the
work of our denomination. Locally we support such
ministries as Love INC and the Reach Out Pregnancy
Center.
The mission does not stop there but continues
through such programs as Upward Sports, which
reaches hundreds of kids and their families every
basketball and soccer season. We reach out to so
many in a variety of ways—gift bags to all of our
guests on Sundays, graphic design work through
posters, postcards and fliers, our webpage (which is
Upward Sports
the virtual front door of Legacy), to the Block Parties we host
and the annual Serve Day, where we dismiss church and go serve our community.
The results of your giving? In 2012 we baptized more people in a one year period
than we have in any one year in over 25 years and are on track to be blessed with a
similar experience in 2013. Lives are being impacted and changed for eternity
because of your generosity!
SERVE—$28, 407
We are a church in the heart of the city, with
the city at heart. Through our many local
outreach programs we have the opportunity
to share God’s love in practical ways.
Serving our community on Thanksgiving
“The impact Legacy has made
on my life is priceless!”
- Legacy Member
Our food pantry, the “Fish Market” provides
essential food to over 20 families each
week. We will provide one-on-one tutoring
to 45 children through our Whiz Kids program. Whether
it is through our Thanksgiving meal (which serves
approximately 800 meals), the Christmas Tree program
that gives a complete Christmas to over 50 children, a
yard sale where everything is free, the countless service
projects our Life Groups are involved in locally, or in
countless other ways, we are sharing God’s love in a
tangible way.
GROW—$164,745
Spiritual growth does not happen in a vacuum. It happens as
we interact with others that opportunities to grow occur.
While adults are worshipping together on Sunday mornings in
our Worship Center, our kids are learning of Jesus’ love in the
Children’s Ministry Center. With their own live band and caring
teachers our children are taught in a safe and warm
environment each week. The impact on each child will
continue its positive affect throughout their lifetime.
Life Groups are a vital part of our spiritual growth. Groups meet in a variety of
places: homes, restaurants, public buildings, and throughout Legacy’s campus.
The materials that are offered help to make God’s Word applicable to
everyday life.
Next Steps Classes
Nearly 50 teenagers come on Wednesday evenings to discover how great God
is. Various Life Groups feed our teens each week. Our Worship Center is
transformed from a worship space to a place to play games. (Dodge ball is the
favorite). After eating and games, the teens hear a lesson from our Youth
Leader and then break up into small groups, led by volunteers, to discuss how to
apply what they are learning.
Lives are transformed throughout the year:

CONNECT—$46,792
What is life if you don’t have friends? The journey of life is too valuable to go it alone. That’s why
church connections are so important and often are so lasting. From the celebration of a birth to
the anguish of death, a church family is there for you through it all.
Because of your generosity those lasting connections occur in so many different ways. Each time
the church comes together for a meal during a picnic, a dinner, cake after service, or a variety of
other ways, connections occur. During times
of bereavement, Legacy is there to host a
family who has lost a loved one. Visiting those who are in the hospital, who are
homebound, or in a Nursing Home happens because of your giving.
PrimeTimers
Friendships are deepened when the Prime Timers meet monthly for an enjoyable outing
or to serve others. The hospitality team arrives early each Sunday to prepare
refreshments so that everyone feels welcome when they walk through the door. All of
these are—connections.
CELEBRATE— $109,213
A vital part of the life of Legacy is when we gather each Sunday to
celebrate together the greatness of God’s love. It is our common
time together as the people of God. Once a person hits our parking
lot, is greeted at the door, grabs a cup of coffee, and sits down – we
have already been hard at work to wanting each one to experience a
place where everyone is welcomed and loved. Our goal is to create an
atmosphere where we can connect with God.
Family Worship
Each week our band leads us as we sing. We experience the Bible come alive in a way that can help us in
our every-day lives. Together we remember Jesus’ sacrifice with the cup and the bread. We connect with
God and each other in so many ways.
Your giving provides the means to make this all happen – from the video and sound, to the lighting, the air conditioning and heating, the
coffee bar, our weekly Outlook, free devotionals, all the way to the mundane (but very necessary) things like paper towels and garbage
bags. All of this, and so much more happens because of the faithful gifts of each person.
