Quintek Case Study NIKE (Manchester United Merchandising) Summary: Manchester United is the biggest football club in the world and has a merchandising operation that most clubs can only dream of. The club is a hive of activity all year round with fans visiting the football museum, school children taking tours, couples getting married and businesses running exhibitions. Objectives: The NIKE (Manchester United merchandising) outlets are open throughout the year providing a constant stream of customers. However, during a home match the retail outlets are tested to the limit with up to 15,000 fans purchasing goods in the space of only a few hours. This means that they need a retail system that can handle extremely high volumes in a very short space of time. The Quintek Solution: Quintek have been the retail system supplier for NIKE (Manchester United Merchandising) for over a decade. The Cygnus Leisure solution provides a truly robust and high performance sales system complemented by other features such as shirt printing, real time mobile sales and the integration of Logic Groups enhanced security payments software to ensure full PCI-DSS conformity. The system runs on two lanes of 10 Toshiba ST60 touch screen terminals with further terminals in the shirt printing gallery and customer service departments. The system gives the Megastore complete and accurate visibility of stock at all times allowing the club to manage stock more effectively. With the interface between Cygnus Leisure and Stock Control/ Accounting System, Manchester United can identify popular lines allowing it to adjust stock as well as pricing or assisting with product positioning within the store on a day to day basis. Reporting is simple with the facility to export reports directly into Microsoft Excel for quick and easy data manipulation. The latest technology is also utilised in the Corporate Hospitality boxes where sales staff can take orders for retail products on a hand held point of sale device combined with a conventional chip and pin card processing terminal. Orders are transmitted through the retail system to be picked and packed by the warehouse team and delivered to the box before the end of the match. Conclusion: “Quintek has worked closely in consultation with us to develop a reporting procedure that is manageable and with reports quickly available. The easy manipulation of data makes reporting very simple and easy to do and has provided us with improved presentation for management.” Giles Hall, Systems/IT Controller, Manchester United To find out how Quintek can improve your retail operations, please contact: Elena Simpson Tel. 0044 (0)1344 894 550 Email. esimpson@quinteksystems.com New Lodge Drift Road Winkfield Windsor Berkshire SL4 4RR United Kingdom Tel: 0044 (0)1344 894550 Fax: 0044 (0)1344 724653 www.quinteksystems.com Quintek is a trading name of a company registered in England and Wales with company number 2100121 at: New Lodge, Drift Road, Winkfield, Berkshire, SL4 4RR, United Kingdom
