SABBAGH ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION EXCELLENCE 2013 AWARD FOR GREEN CONSTRUCTIONS This Award recognizes the noteworthy contributions in the field of GREEN CONSTRUCTIONS by an engineer or team of engineers on the basis of participation in the planning, development or construction of a successful project completed in the two to five year period prior to 31 January 2013. The Award recipient(s) shall be an engineer(s) as defined by the relative standards of the nominating WFEO member organization. Nominations, using the enclosed two-page nomination form and following its instructions, must be submitted by May 31, 2013, to the Executive Director, WFEO. The WFEO Awards Committee, including a representative of late Hassib J. Sabbagh will make its recommendation on this Award to the WFEO Executive Council for ratification. The Award recipient(s) will be notified and, on acceptance, the news media will be informed. This Award will be presented in Singapore at the WFEO Gala dinner on 13 September 2013 during the General Assembly meetings, where the award recipient would give a brief presentation on a topic related to the basis of the nomination. The Consolidated Contractors, under the leadership of late Hassib J. Sabbagh, gave the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) responsibility for organizing the Hassib J. Sabbagh Award for Engineering Construction Excellence. This Award was instituted in 2002 by the initiative and endowment of late Hassib J. Sabbagh who devoted many years of concern and effort in the area of engineering and construction. The Award consists of a medal, a certificate, and a cash prize of $10,000 (USD) and presented in conjunction with the biennial General Assembly of the WFEO. The first presentation was given during the WFEO General Assembly in Tunis, Tunisia in October 2003. THE CONSOLIDATED CONTRACTORS F rom its beginning in 1952, Consolidated Contractors Company, better known as CCC, has become the largest engineering and construction company in the Middle East. CCC is nevertheless truly international with active projects in countries spread over the Middle East, Africa, Caribbean and the CIS countries with related additional investments in Europe and the United States. THE WORLD FEDERATION OF ENGINEERING ORGANISATIONS O n the 4th of March, 1968, representatives of 50 scientific and technical associations from all over the world met under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in Paris to establish the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO).
