it has cleared. And sometimes the radio does not report a traffic
incident even though it is causing congestion. Traffic information

By continually accessing the traffic data, it shows you up-to-theminute reports for the road ahead of you, whether you are on a
motorway, main road or other busy secondary road. A green line
indicates that the road is clear, orange means slow traffic, and red
alerts you to congestion – which you can promptly avoid by using
dynamic route guidance, saving yourself plenty of time and avoiding frustration.

Unlike many other services, the database for traffic information
online is obtained from a large number of smartphones and
navigation systems in moving vehicles. The advantage is that while
TMC and TMCpro broadcast their data on FM, traffic information
online does so over the internet – and therefore in real time. As
soon as the system has been activated in the vehicle, it can be used
at no further cost for the next 36 months provided activation takes
place within six months of the vehicle’s delivery; if activated later,
the period of use is correspondingly shorter.

Wi-Fi hotspot
Audi connect makes your Audi a Wi-Fi hotspot from which you
can conveniently check personal or work emails, surf the internet,
Skype or chat. Thanks to the high transmission rate (depending
on network availability), data reaches your tablet, smartphone or
laptop with lightning speed. And if you are a front-seat or rear-seat
passenger, even while the car is moving.
The connection is encrypted, providing a secure, stable internet
connection in your Audi for up to eight devices simultaneously. You
can also use the extremely fast LTE transmission standard (Long
Term Evolution)* in the new Audi A3, offering transfer speeds up
to ten times as fast as with UMTS.
Using the existing Wi-Fi connection to your mobile device, you can
then, for instance, perform fast uploads and downloads, hold
in-car video conferences and watch films online in HD quality. All
provided you have a SIM card with an LTE option, of course.

to check your Email, which you can have read out
to you in the new Audi A3. Another option in the
new Audi A3 is to listen to text messages using
the Messages service, and dictate your reply straight
away by speech recognition.

As soon as you have paired a smartphone loaded with the Audi
music stream app with your Audi via Wi-Fi, you can choose your
favourite from the available range of radio stations from all
over the world, either by free text search or by music genre.
This system currently gives you access to over 7,000 internet
radio stations, and you can save your favourites at the push of
a button. If you’d prefer to listen to your favourite songs from
your own mobile phone, you can connect it up to your Audi’s
sound system by Wi-Fi, by cable via the Audi music interface
that is available as an option, or by Bluetooth. If you choose to
connect by Wi-Fi or Audi music interface, you will be able to
operate Audi music stream intuitively and easily via the MMI
navigation plus (with MMI touch). Then you simply call up your
playlists over the sound system of your Audi.

explore the surroundings by pivoting the view to the left, right,
up or down with the MMI. Start your tour using the arrow displayed
at the centre of the picture and simply follow it in the direction
indicated.
If you want to view the route to your destination from a bird’s
eye perspective, call up navigation with Google Earth to obtain
high-resolution aerial and satellite images, photos, terrain
information, roads and business entries along the entire route.
The Google Earth data is combined with information on the
road network from the MMI navigation plus (with MMI touch),
giving you a perfect overview of your chosen route.

fully abreast of what is going on in the world.
Texts and pictures on topical world events are supplied by several
national and international editorial teams, continually updated
and transmitted to your vehicle with lightning speed.
As the driver of a new Audi A3, the news online (individual) service also gives you the option of calling up personalised news as
well as comprehensive basic information. To do that, you simply
compile your individual RSS feeds on the myAudi platform at
www.audi.com/myaudi.
Politics, entertainment, sport, business – whatever content you
prefer is displayed to you in abbreviated form in your Audi, and
in the new Audi A3 you can even have it read out to you. If the
vehicle is stationary, a full text version is also available – in effect
an electronic newspaper brought straight to your Audi. Keeping

Flight information
In the new Audi A3 five navigation updates are released half-yearly. The
current navigation data for the MMI navigation plus (with MMI touch) is made
available for downloading from the myAudi platform at www.audi.com/myAudi
and can be installed to the vehicle via SD card. It is also possible to have the
new navigation data installed by an Audi dealer (at extra cost).
Never be caught out as time flies by. Whether you yourself are flying, or are
taking someone to or collecting them from an airport, the flight information
service supplies all the relevant information such as arrival and departure
times, delays and gate numbers straight to the MMI display. There is also the
option of looking up a flight directly via its flight number – so that you make it
in time or don’t leave friends waiting to be collected.

Train information
The built-in parking space locator: the parking information service supported
by Audi connect takes the stress out of parking – even in unfamiliar cities.
Available parking spaces and multi-storeys at your current location, a destination or any other place are shown in real time, in a neat overview: with
address, including price details and number of places currently free, provided
such information is available in the database. The address supplied can be
imported conveniently and quickly as a navigation destination.
The train information supported by Audi connect helps to cut waiting time
and stress to a minimum. Whether you are the one travelling or are collecting
someone, the MMI display shows platform numbers and arrival and departure
times in a flash for intercity, regional and local trains. Optionally, the navigation
system will take you to the stop or station at the push of a button.

Go your own way. You can add special destinations using the myAudi special
destinations service. The list of filling stations, Audi dealers, pharmacies, etc.
already loaded by Audi can be transformed into your personal road atlas by

Audi connect, you no longer need to be sitting in your car to plan a route in
detail. An individual itinerary planned on the computer can be sent straight

Listen to what you want. Not what someone else decides. If a smartphone with
the Audi music stream app loaded is paired with the Audi via Wi-Fi, you can
choose your favourite station from the current range of over 7,000 internet
radio stations worldwide by a free text search or by specifying a genre. And if
your favourite songs are stored on the phone, the Audi sound system can
also access those playlists.
The latest news at the press of a button. Have texts and pictures from leading
national and international editorial offices delivered straight to your car where
they are displayed on the MMI with text and images.
Weather
City events
You can’t change the weather, but you can change where to head for. Audi
connect gives you the weather forecast for your current location or your destination – and what to expect over the next few days. With detailed information
on temperature, cloud levels and precipitation. This enables you to change your
route accordingly and also see what the weather is like at the new destination
while you are still on the way there.
Never miss a great occasion again: the city events service supported by Audi
connect provides information about upcoming concerts, galleries, clubs, trendy
locations and much more, too – for your current location, your destination or
indeed any other place. The search function supplies e.g. results for the address,
the current distance and, if available, the phone number. In the new Audi A3,
the information displayed can also be read out if you so desire, so that you
don’t miss your exit while savouring the highlights.
News online (individual)
In the new Audi A3, personalised RSS feeds can also be called up via the news
online function and read out conveniently. That way, you are always in the picture even while travelling.

An electronic secretary in your Audi. Using the messages function, SMS text
messages can easily be picked up and sent – without having to pick up the
mobile phone. Using the voice command “read out message”, you can listen
to SMS text messages received and reply to them with the command “dictate

If you are not the only user of your Audi, other drivers too can select the services they want from their
own myAudi account and call up this personal user profile in the vehicle. For instance, you might prefer
to use Facebook and Twitter in the new Audi A3, while another driver configures the news online
(individual) service to their preferences – both now have several connected worlds in a single vehicle
thanks to Audi connect.
With the Audi MMI connect app, you can also personalise your Audi using your smartphone, tablet
or laptop. The app can be used with Android 4.0 devices and the iPhone (from iOS 6), putting the following services for your vehicle supported by Audi connect on your smartphone: Audi music stream,
POI search via Google Maps, picturebook navigation, city events and traffic information online.
You will need an existing myAudi user account in which the relevant vehicle has already been set up
and – in order to use Audi music stream – an active Wi-Fi connection between your smartphone, tablet
or PC and the MMI navigation plus (with MMI touch).

The services supported by Audi connect can only be used in conjunction with the optional equipment items MMI navigation
plus and Audi connect (incl. car phone – depending on vehicle model). Depending on the vehicle model, you will also require
a SIM card with data option – with LTE option in order to use LTE – and in the case of the car phone, a SIM card with telephone
and data option or a Bluetooth-capable smartphone with remote SIM Access Profile (rSAP). The services are only available
in conjunction with an existing or separate mobile phone contract and only within the area covered by the mobile phone
network. Depending on the particular mobile phone tariff, and particularly when used abroad, additional costs may be
incurred for receiving data packets from the internet. Due to the high volume of data involved, a contract with a flat rate
for data is strongly recommended. The availability of services supported by Audi connect varies from country to country.
The services are provided for a minimum of one year from delivery of the vehicle. A one-time registration/initial activation
plus, in certain cases, individual configuration on the myAudi platform at www.audi.com/myaudi are required before the
individual services can be accessed. Certain services may need to be activated in the vehicle before first-time use. For services
that require initial activation in the vehicle, the right to use these is limited to a period of 36 months following initial activation (provided activation takes place within six months of delivery of the vehicle; otherwise, the period of use will shorten
accordingly). Depending on vehicle model, Audi connect provides access to Facebook and Twitter services. Permanent
availability cannot be guaranteed as this is the responsibility of Facebook and Twitter. For further information on Audi connect,
