City University of Hong Kong Information for Visiting Students Enrolled under the Collaboration Scheme between City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University (Semester B 2006/07) 1. Student Number The student number assigned to you is the number by which you will be identified throughout your studies at CityU. 2. Electronic ID Every new student is given an electronic ID (EID). You will use this EID to log onto CityU Student Portal, the gateway that allows you access to all kinds of information related to your study at CityU, such as: • the academic calendar of CityU, your class schedule, examination timetable and your final course grades when they are released • important announcement posted at the Student Portal • message sent to you via the email account assigned to you by CityU • communicate with your instructors and classmates through via the Blackboard course site As CityU is an electronic campus, electronic communication is an integral part of our teaching and learning, it is essential for you to activate your EID or else you will not be able to access any web information/services at CityU. Please follow the instructions at http://www.cityu.edu.hk/cityu/student/loginissue.htm to activate your EID and set your password immediately. 3.
