Crean’s story is a testament of human fortitude against all the elements of the Antarctic, his 36 mile, solitary trek to base camp during the Terra Nova expedition to rescue his comrades Teddy Evans and William Lashly has been described by Antarctic historians as “the finest feat of individual heroism from the entire age of exploration”. The group was formed in 2002 and released its debut album, Between Us, in 2003. Since then the trio has rapidly gained critical acclaim at home and abroad. In 2010 they were nominated for an Irish Film and Television Award for Best Original Score for the film A Shine of Rainbows, which featured songs from their third album Dawn. The three are multi-instrumentalists who perform an eclectic mix of traditional Irish music, folk and blues, with spine-tingling three-part vocal harmonies, to produce a musical fusion of the Donegal coastline and the Appalachian Mountains that combines something of our Irish heritage with a more contemporary backdrop. Now based in Yorkshire, England, O’Kane is best known for his work with Anglo/Irish supergroup Flook, in an award winning duo with Shona Kipling and he currently tours full-time in Kate Rusby’s band of merry men on guitar, and banjo! Valjean decides to break his parole and start his life anew after a kindly bishop inspires him to, but he is relentlessly tracked down by a police inspector named Javert. Along the way, Valjean and a slew of characters are swept into a revolutionary period in France, where a group of young idealists make their last stand at a street barricade. Open to 6-18yrs. Last summer saw Sunlight’s biggest course to date inviting 6-10 yrs to take part in a 3 day course and join the 11-18 yrs on stage in their Production of Pride Rock. Sunlight is pleased to announce that owing to popular demand, the Junior course will return again this summer as a standalone course. Join Sunlight on stage at the Riverside Theatre this Summer at one of their two innovative and unique courses where you decide what happens, how it happens; meet other young creative from the triangle area.
