Installation and Setting
4. Connect signal wires
Proceed according to the type of alarm system with the
pictures on the following pages.
Connect the data lines from the alarm system to TDWPDS to terminals DATA1 and DATA2. If needed, terminate
the data lines with a PULL-UP resistor on the xDW-PDS
terminal board on the modules side (on the alarm system
side – do not terminate).
1. Mounting
Place TDW-PDS to the side of the alarm system.
Place RDW-PDS to the side of modules (keyboards,
modules...).
Mount the converters to either flat surface or DIN35 rail.
2. Connect supply
12VDC between V+ and GND terminals. Connection of the
supply is indicated by the yellow LED POWER switching
on.
5. Indications
LED PWR - by switching on detects supply
LED LOCK - by switching on detects relay closure
- by switching on detects optics interruption
- by switching on detects failure of a remote
device
LED DATA1 - data line
- red LED Tx blinking – data transmission
- green LED Rx blinking – data reception
LED DATA2 - data line
- red LED Tx blinking – data transmission
- green LED Rx blinking – data reception
Overvoltage protections are grounded through the GND
terminal.
3. Connect optic fiber
terminated by a SC connector (grinding PC). After
interconnection of TDW-PDS and RDW-PDS LED LOCK
switches off. The reach of the fiber is changing with the
number of optoconverters sets used.
The length of the optical fiber in a system for 4 sets
connected in series in a bus is max. 6km for both SM and
MM fiber. Using of more than 4 pairs of sets in a bus is
not recommended. In star topology it is possible to
connect max. 16 optoconverters sets to an alarm system.
