For ALL UCI Applicants (regardless if you are applying for a TAG):
MINIMUM UC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• 2 UC-transferable English courses
• 1 UC-transferable math course
• 4 additional UC-transferable courses chosen from at least two of the following
subject areas: Arts and Humanities; Social and Behavioral Sciences; and Physical and
Biological Sciences.
The following majors are not available until the student is enrolled at UCI: Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology, Developmental and Cell Biology, Exercise Science, Genetics, Human Biology, Microbiology and
Immunology or Neurobiology. Students who wish to be considered for the above majors should follow the
required and recommended course preparation outlined for Biological Sciences and Ecology, Evolutionary
Biology, and Biology/Education (Note: All 3 majors have the same requirements - see assist.org for more
information/recommendation for what major to apply to).
Similarly, students interested in applying for Musical Theatre cannot do so until enrolled at UCI. It is
recommended that students follow major preparation and apply with a major in Drama (See assist.org for
more information/recommendation for what major to apply to).
Students interested Cognitive Sciences major should apply to the Psychology Major (for both TAG eligible
applicants and general admissions applicants). Students who meet specified course and grade
requirements may apply to change majors to Cognitive Sciences at the beginning of their junior year. See
