Our
MISSION
Jewish Scene Magazine is dedicated to connecting Jewish communities
by creating awareness about Jewish-related organizations, programs
and events throughout the United States and Israel.
Founded by Susan C. Nieman in September 2006 as Jewish Living of the South magazine,
Jewish Scene Magazine changed its name and focus in October 2007. We stepped out of
the Memphis and Mid-South area and into the national Jewish Scene to connect Jewish
communities throughout the United States and around the world.
Little about our focus has changed since our humble beginnings.
In 2010, we decreased our printing schedule from 12 to 6
issues per year and limited print distribution to Tennessee,
Arkansas and Mississippi to keep our doors open during bad
economic times. Jewish Scene currently distributes 6 issues
bi-monthly throughout the Memphis/Mid-South region, while
Our
HISTORY
maintaining a global online presence.
With every issue, more than 24,000 print and 23,000 online
readers learn about interesting people, places and Jewish events throughout the United
States and Israel.

TESTIMONIALS
My company has been advertising with Jewish Scene magazine since its inception, and we have been extremely
pleased with the results! Jewish Scene is the perfect vehicle to reach one of our key target audiences; this
benefit is amplified by virtue of its widespread distribution and name equity within the Jewish community.
Our belief is that if we want to build business within the Jewish community, it is imperative that we capitalize
on every opportunity, and Jewish Scene is foremost in this regard.
– Cary Rotter, Comfort Keepers, Memphis
Thank goodness for Jewish Scene Magazine and its fine coverage of the Memphis Jewish community. It’s
really a unique publication and its readership appreciates the chance to enjoy such a finely tailored and wellcrafted periodical for its attentive constituent base. Happy anniversary and keep up the excellent work.
– Pace Cooper, President, Cooper Hotels, Memphis, TN Just a note to introduce myself and let you know how much I enjoyed reading your article. I am the “new”
Marketing Director at the Inn and have been with the team about three months now. I’ve read all of the media
coverage we’ve received over the years and your article is now one of my favorites, if not my favorite! It was
so well written and really captured the essence of the Inn. Next time you’re in Destin, please give me a call. I look forward to meeting you!
– Deborah Channell, Director of Marketing, Henderson Park Inn, Destin, FL

well-placed advertising or coverage of our company news, Jewish Scene has given us the opportunity to
successfully reach our target audience throughout Mississippi and Tennessee. We are thankful that we can
achieve great results while also supporting the Jewish community. Thank you Jewish Scene for 8 great years
and more to come!
