Corporate Continuous Improvement and Quality Systems Manager
About SCI:
SCI Logistics is the largest Canadian-owned third party logistics provider (3PL) offering customer focused
supply chain solutions across Canada for 30 years. The company operates an extensive national
distribution and transportation network, served by up to 1,800 team members. SCI Logistics leads the
industry in providing customized supply chain solutions to clients in the Retail, E-Commerce,
Technology, Healthcare, and Financial sectors.
The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Continuous Improvement , the Corporate Continuous
Improvement and Quality Systems Manager serves as the primary leader to develop, deploy and
monitor activities related to continuous improvement and quality management systems. As a part of the
SCI management team, you will provide direction to cross-functional teams while working closely with
corporate and site leaders to positively implement a company quality management system and a strong
continuous improvement culture to drive improved company profitability and EBIT.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:









Lead the corporate Continuous Improvement program by working with distribution site leaders
to generate, track and report continuous improvement results
Oversee, develop and deliver company training programs to stimulate use of continuous
improvement techniques to enhance employee participation and accelerate savings generation
Develop monthly business review presentations to illustrate successes and present to SCI senior
management teams
Review the Quality Management Systems currently in use throughout SCI Group Inc.
Conduct an inventory of the use of the various tools, procedures and work instructions currently
in use at SCI’s four GMP sites
Develop a gap analysis on the above and develop strategic recommendation to SCI Executive,
outlining our path to implementation
Develop and implement a Corporate Quality Policy
Develop and implement a Corporate QMS, initial focus on the Quality Manual, Management
Review and Internal Audit
Develop and deliver required company training on required QMS elements to achieve
compliance and consistency of use
The Ideal Candidate:







Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying a company-wide Quality Management
System
Ability to influence and gain support with company leadership on the strategic importance of a
Quality Management System
Ability to concisely communicate company success or areas of improvement through the use of
Key Performance Indicators
Ability to influence the use of Quality Management System tools and techniques across
independent SCI operations to improve efficiencies and service requirements of SCI’s customers
Ability to effectively train non quality personnel on the concepts and value of a Quality
Management System
Ability to partner with business leaders to position Quality Management as a strategic market
differentiator for SCI
Ability to test compliance to the Quality Management System and influence local and corporate
resources when compliance is not being achieved
Experience & Qualifications:



7 to 10 years of Quality Management Experience
Preferably have a BEng or BSc degree
Experience or certification in Lean Six Sigma and audit
Working Conditions:
Normal working conditions in an office environment. Regular exposure to a Distribution Centre
environment. Periodic travel across Canada.
