Beo4 and Beolink 1000 are remote control terminals from Bang & Olufsen. OneRemote supplies interface modules that
allow third party equipment to be operated via a Bang & Olufsen remote control system.
OneRemote converter type 36012639
for 3/5 port HDMI expander
For B&O BeoVision (STB Gefen operated)

Congratulations
The OneRemote converter type 36012639
enables you with Gefen data to operate:


3 port OneRemote HDMI Switch type 36008283.
5 port OneRemote HDMI Switch type 36008285.
Basically this converter is made for use with a Bang & Olufsen TV that has the ability to
emit Gefen control data using its STB controller system.
Once the Bang & Olufsen TV has been correctly set up, selection of sources on the switch
will automatically be controlled from the TV.
How it works – Plug & Play
This schematic shows a setup with 3 HDMI sources, a Bang & Olufsen TV and a OneRemote 360082831
Expander. The OneRemote Expander switches between the digital pictures, from the three sources.
Green connections: HDMI to HDMI cables. (Not supplied)
Orange connection: Stereo mini jack cable, 3.5mm male to 3.5 mm male. Supplied.
The OneRemote type 36008283/ 36008285 expanders are powered expanders, originally
manufactured to be used with their own IR-receivers.
A OneRemote type 36012639 converter is used to convert Gefen data to data that can
operate the switch.
The OneRemote HDMI Expander requires no programming. Only the BeoVision TV’s
sources menu, has to be configured to send the correct data to the switch.
Note!
The supplied original IR-receiver for the Switch is NOT used, in a Bang & Olufsen setup.
A BeoVision TV can send Gefen data for selection of up to four sources. If used with a OneRemote type
36003285 5-port expander, only input 1 to 4 can be controlled automatically from the TV. Input 5 has to be
manually selected on the switch.

Powering up
When the OneRemote HDMI Expander is connected to at least one source, it switches on
and selects input 1 as default. When a new source is selected on the B&O TV, the HDMI
selector receives this information, and switches to appropriate input.
If your setup includes devices, that are periodically removed from the mains supply, you
might consider adding the external power supply to the HDMI switch.
When a BeoVision 7 is switched to one of the configured HDMI sources or from one
HDMI source to another, control data is sent to the OneRemote HDMI Expander, which
then switches to the selected input.
If the active source is selected while it is already active,
control data is not being retransmitted to the HDMI switch from the TV.
If the OneRemote Expander has been powered down, another source therefore needs
to be selected, before the TV is re-transmitting to the expander for this input.
If the OneRemote Expander is always powered up, it will keep track of this and never
occur. This missing control command might have been fixed by Bang & Olufsen in a later
software version for the BeoVision 7.
As the BeoVision 7 does not transmit power down data, the OneRemote Expander is
always powered up, and the above situation never occurs.
HDMI and DVI
A digital source is equipped with either a DVI or an HDMI output socket transmitting the
video signal.
An HDMI connection contains both digital video and digital audio signals. Both sound
and picture.
When using a DVI connection a digital coax (RCA), analogue RCA or scart cable
connection must be used for the audio signal, as the DVI socket only holds video signals.
First generations BeoVision 7,requires video and
audio signals on separate inputs as it has only accepts DVI.
With a BeoVison 7 that only accept DVI signals, a converter must be added to separate
the HDMI signal into a DVI video signal and a separate Audio signal.
