Conference on “Inequality and Macroeconomics”
Stockholm, 12-13 December 2014
Call for Papers – Submission Deadline: September 15, 2014
Individual households differ along multiple dimensions, e.g., wealth, indebtedness, income, education, or
beliefs. Firms also vary in size, productivity or access to credit. Accounting for agents’ heterogeneity can
have important implications when studying responses to economic shocks and the effectiveness of
economic policy. This conference aims to include both theoretical and empirical contributions discussing
these issues. The format of the conference will include a discussant for each paper.
Conference Topics
Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
- recent developments in heterogeneous-agent modeling;
- the empirics of heterogeneity: micro data collection and model testing;
- effects of monetary and fiscal policies in heterogeneous-agent economies;
- macroeconomic drivers of inequality.
Invited Speakers
Fatih Guvenen (University of Minnesota), Wouter den Haan (LSE and CEPR), Alisdair McKay (Boston
University), Aysegul Sahin (NY Fed), Tony Smith (Yale University)

Authors are encouraged to submit papers on the above-mentioned topics. Submissions must consist of
either a full paper (preferred) or an extended abstract and should be sent in PDF format by September 15
2014 at the latest. Authors who have previously attended EABCN events can upload their submission on
