i2 is an equity financing programme of Austria
Wirtschaftsservice Gesellschaft mbH. The business
angel network was established in 1997 and is in
close contact with other business angel networks and
investor plattforms in Europe. i2 is also member of the
European Business Angel Network (EBAN).
i2 is a matching service where business angels will
find promising start-up companies that are currently
looking for capital as well as experience. i2 business
angels are provided with innovative business concepts,
they can interact with entrepreneurs and potential
co-investors and can make direct private investments via
a professional and reputable plattform. i2 members
have many years of experience in investments spanning
multible business sectors and often a track record in
building successful companies.

Screening Procedure
i2 receives numerous business plans each month and
selects about 60 companies per year to present their
respective investment proposals to i2 members. To stand
out from the crowd, entrepreneurs who are seeking capital
should ensure they meet the investment criteria of our
i2 members and are fully prepared with a complete and
detailed business plan.
„„ The i2 Team verifies the details and assumptions made
in the business plan, the presentation and the financial
projections.
„„ i2 researches the founders‘ personal background and
track record.
„„ If the start-up team plays an active role in facilitating
this procedure, this will help to speed up the due
diligence process and final investment decision.
i2 Listing
Following the successful screening process, i2
prepares a professional investment proposal. Once the
entrepreneurs have approved the i2 investment proposal,
this is then offered to all members of the Austrian Business
Angel Network i2.
Successful Closings & Investments
Since 1997, i2 business angels have invested about
EUR 11 m in 73 start-up companies, all located in Austria
(satus October 2012).
Founding and Beyond
It should be noted that once all parties have agreed to
the conditions and the deal has been closed that this is
only the beginning of the funding process. Now founders
have access to a network of valuable public funding and
co-financing instruments of Austria Wirtschaftsservice
Gesellschaft mbH.
