A few career highlights: 30 years of extensive experience in the development, management and construction of major public and private projects in the commercial, industrial, infrastructure, residential and heavy/civil arenas. Just a few highlights include: – Building his first single family residence at age 15. – His first ride was a John Deere backhoe. – Dozer and backhoe operator with over 2000 hours before the age of 17. – Working on the team producing the first project computerized forecasting model in the USA. – Construction of the most expensive five-star hotel rooms in the world. – Working on the design team for the “Bill Gates Cyber Residence” schematic proposal. – The creation of destination resorts perched upon a cliff in southeastern Alaska and the pristine beaches of the islands of Hawaii and Maui. – Working on the transformation of an existing medical/research campus to a new state-of-the-art hospital and emergency care facility for the Hawaiian Islands. – Building the largest offshore arctic oil production facility in the world. Rick W. Cherf- Highlights • • • • • • • • • • Managing infrastructure projects in remote areas of Alaska, Canada, Venezuela and Bolivia. “Red Adair” style around the clock turnaround/shutdown maintenance and repair of the largest oil production and refining facilities in the Western Hemisphere. The completion of a high purity polycrystalline silicon manufacturing research and development facility to meet the needs of the computer chip industry in North America. The Program Manager on three different billion-dollar expansion projects. Drafting and implementing business plans for four different start-up organizations. Strategic planning and development team member on three different merger/acquisition companies with total revenue of over billion dollars. Directly involved with the design and construction of 25 single family residences. Executive vice-president for a publicly-held international service contractor. Proposal leader on over $1 Billion of project work from conceptual design to turnover on all types of project delivery methods. Some might just be taking it for other general university requirements. • Many past students enjoyed the class others thought it to be too slow and boring. • If you come to class and actively listen you will do well in my class. • I’m not your normal professor and this is not a normal university class. It is the responsibility of the students to visit the site in order to obtain information and prepare for class. This site also allows students access to review scores on assignments - not overall grades. Additionally, course assignments may be posted on the Angel course site.
