Jayeee Week To Be Proclaimed F AN WOOD —Jaycee Week, the annual anniversary observance of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, starts naxt Sunday In Fanwood and Scotch Plains, Mariow H. Paulson, local chapter president announced today. Highlights of the week will include the signing of the proclamation in honor of the jaycees by Edward H. Peterson and E.Sidney Hulsizer, respective mayors of Scotch Plains and Fanwood, and the final judging of candidates for the chapter's annual "Man of the Year" Distinguished Service Award. DSA committee chairman Robert Gartland of Fanwood has announced that the two mayors and past school board president William A. Waskow, J r . will serve as judges in the competition for the honor. The name of the award winner will be announced at a dinner meeting of the Jaycee chapter next Tuesday, January 21st a t Shackamaxon Country Club, During Jaycee Week observances here, t h e United States Jaycees w i l l be recognizing America's T e n Outstanding Young Men of 1963 in Santa Monica, California, with national jaycee President Richard H. Headlee making t h e presentations. The Distinguished Service Award winner from Scotch Plains and Fanwood will be entered in the New j e r s e y contest to be held later this year by the state jaycees. In this competition four outstanding young men between Che ages of 21 through 35 will be selected. The state award winners will in turn be entered in the national competition which chooses the nation's ten outstanding young men. Ladles Auxiliary The Ladies' Auxiliary of the Scotch plains Elks No. 2182, met at the home of Mrs. Thomas Montagna, Coles Ave., Scotch Plains, for their first officer's meeting of the new year. Their winter calendar of events for 1964 will include a membership drive to begin now and end with a Tea in February.
