The highly anticipated Oct. 26 debut of SUPERGIRL was a ratings high flyer, soaring to the 2015-2016 season’s #1 new series premiere in viewers (averaged 12.94 million) and A18-49. The CBS freshman series was also the season’s #1 new series premiere among all key male demos, and Monday’s top scripted drama in viewers and key demographics. The COOPER family celebrates the holidays With 7-day playback, SUPERGIRL is projected to increase +46% in viewers (to 18.9m), +65% in A18-49) and +63% in A l 25-54 (to 6.5). The film is a decades-spanning romantic drama, starrings Academy Award-winner Jim Broadbent (“Iris”), Charlotte Rampling (“Melancholia”), Harriet Walter (“The Young Victoria”), Emily Mortimer (“Hugo”), Michelle Dockery (“Downton Abbey”) among others. It is directed by Ritesh Batra (“The Lunchbox”) from a screenplay by award-winning playwright Nick Payne and produced by David Thompson and Ed Rubin (“Woman in Gold”). CBS RENEWS "ZOO" FOR SUMMER 2016 l CBS will broad- cast the second season of ZOO during summer 2016. Summer 2016 will also see l CBS extended its viewer winning streak to five weeks with 10 of the top 20 broadcasts, for the week ending Oct. 25. Among the highlights: NCIS was the week's top scripted program and drama, THE BIG BANG THEORY was the week's top comedy, LIFE IN PIECES was the week's #1 new comedy and series, and LIMITLESS was the week's top new drama. CBS had eight of the top 10 broadcast dramas with NCIS (#1), NCIS: NEW ORLEANS (#2), MADAM SECRETARY (#4), BLUE BLOODS (#5), SCORPION (#6), THE GOOD WIFE (#8), NCIS: LOS ANGELES (#9) and HAWAII FIVE-0 (#10) and CRIMINAL MINDS finishing at #11. LIFE IN PIECES delivered its best adults 18-49 rating (2.1/06) since its series premiere, tying “The Blindspot” as the week’s #1 new series in the demo. NCIS: LOS ANGELES notched season highs in viewers (8.77m), A18-49 (1.3/04) and A 25-54 (2.0/05). l With live + 7-day ratings lift factored in, during the third week of the season (the week of Oct. 5 - Oct. 11). CBS had the largest viewers lift among all the networks, adding +2.15m (12.47m from 10.32m, +21%). In addition, CBS increased its lead over NBC in A25-54 (+0.2 from +0.1)from live same day and moved into a tie with the Peacock network in A18-49. The next edition of the summer reality hit BIG BROTHER will also air in 2016. BANG THEORY added +5.47m (20.87m from 15.40m, +36%) and NCIS added +3.87m (20.74m from 16.87m, +23%) as both series passed “Sunday Night Football” (19.65m) as the week’s top two broadcasts. Dr. Phil McGraw, host and executive producer of the #1 rated daytime talk show DR. PHIL, has extended his deal with CBS Television Distribution through 2020. Currently in its 14th season, DR. PHIL is averaging 4.4 million viewers. The program has been the highest-rated daytime talk show for the past four years.
