“If you’ll concede the necessity of going to school we’ll go on reading every night just as we always have.”
It is important because Atticus is trying to help Scout, even though he knows she will never be the perfect little girl that everyone expects her to be. He is telling her that no one will ever get in the way of what you want to do.
“I’m simply defending a Negro his name’s Tom Robinson. He lives… John Taylor was kind enough to give us a postponement.”
It is important because it shows that Atticus doesn’t care what race he defends, no matter what people say about him.
“Scout,” he said, “Mr. Ewell fell on his knife. Can you possibly understand?”
I think this is the most important quote out of all of them, because this shows that Atticus is ready to let go of the truth to save the people he loves. Mar 18:25 AM

1) "Boo Radley. You were so busy looking at the fire you didn't know it when he put the blanket around you." Atticus pg. 8182 This shows that Boo hardly makes an appearance but has a big influence on what happens to people.
2) "Tim Johnson... didn't know what hit him." pg. 110 Although seemingly minor, the "mad dog" incident was major. It resembles the townspeople's feelings toward Boo they know nothing about him but make up stories about him and pose him to be evil. They were quick to kill the dog with no regret, no second thoughts, or reason.
" Mr. Cunningham's basically a good man. He just has blind spots along with the rest of us." This quote shows that nothing is as it 3) seems. Mr. Cunningham seems like a good man, but he showed a darker side at the mob. It also shows that Atticus is blind to peoples flaws.

1.Throughout the novel, you see Scout grow up and mature. You see her start to understand whats going on around her in Maycomb. 2.At the begining of the novel, Scout doesnt understand much about the world she lives in. She asks alot of questions because she is curious. She is also very immature beacause she is only 6 and she doesnt understand much, this makes her kind of ignorant. She is also adventurous and always wants to play with the boys.
