U.S. Constitution Requirement
Meeting the US Constitution requirement is a State of CA requirement for earning a preliminary
teaching credential. The UOP credential analyst will audit transcripts to determine whether or
not you have satisfied the US Constitution requirement. If it is determined you have not met the
requirement, there are a few options available:
1. Take an online test at Notre Dame de Namur University online,
www.usconsitutionexam.com
2. BA or BS degree from a California State University (CSU) as coursework is
embedded in degree
3. Completing coursework at a community college near you must be approved by this
office prior to enrollment. Please contact us with the name of the college and
proposed course number.
A U.S. Constitution Course at a school district office or a county office education does not
satisfy this requirement. If you complete the online test, please submit transcripts the official
certificate from Notre Dame de Namur University online as evidence of completing this
