Partnership and opened in January 2012. The centre is one of the
top film and animation teaching facilities in all of North America.
the cap experience
Emily S olomon
First-year student in the Bachelor of Business
Administration Degree program
2012 graduate from the Accounting Assistant
Certificate program
Cap U students, such as
Accounting Assistant program grad, Emily Solomon
(pictured with her daughter
Milly), are able to balance
learning and family with the
support of the university’s
faculty and services.
As a graduate of Cap’s Accounting
Assistant program, I enjoyed classes
that were connected to create a web of
thorough understanding. There is a certain
kinship among the faculty of my program.
They went above and beyond to push
and challenge me to develop my skills.
They were quick to offer resources and
opportunities, and always supported me in
my growth. They encouraged me to come
out of my shell and by doing so, helped
me to make important connections in the
business world early in my career. With
their support, I finished my program with
top marks and with an impressive work
practicum behind me. I am registered to
continue studies in the Bachelor of Business
Administration program, and I will do so
with sincere gratitude and appreciation for
my teachers and Cap’s outstanding learning
environment.
In addition, the supportive atmosphere at
the Children’s Centre reflects the standard
of excellence prevalent throughout the
university. With compassionate teachers, as
well as programs to help defray the cost, my
daughter and I have the convenience and
benefit of superb child care.

Kevin Pearce
President and Co-Owner,
Landsea Tours & Adventures
2006 graduate from the Tourism
Management Diploma Co-op program
Tourism program grad, Kevin
Pearce, appears in a Landsea
Tours & Adventures brochure, which won the 2011
“best brochure in the world”
out of 19,000 submissions.
The faculty at Cap have an incredible wealth
of knowledge and their caring and in-depth
teaching styles really allow the students to
connect to the key components of operating
a successful tourism business. With small
and intimate class sizes, each student is able
to obtain the personal attention that they
require. I owe a lot of my success to the
Tourism program as it really opened my eyes
to the fact that tourism business is indeed
quite different to more broad based types
of businesses. The real-life and hands-on
approach to learning is extremely beneficial.
Long standing relationships with tourism
professionals are right there at our fingertips
if needed and Cap’s Tourism students are
always welcome and encouraged to attend
professional networking events.
I still utilize my education from Capilano
every single day to operate my business in an
innovative and efficient manner. I will forever
assist tourism’s next generation by providing
inspiration and insight to Capilano University
Tourism students. The faculty at Capilano are
like family to me now.

At Capilano University, we live our

We are as committed to an undergrad student’s thirst for discovery
and direction as we are to a mature
student’s desire for new skills.
We believe that textbook wisdom
needs to stroll in step with street
smarts in order to truly remain
connected to the real world. At
Capilano University, knowledge is
to be shared and excellence is the
