Many bus companies provide cheaper travel to regular users by means of various “ Saver Tickets “. Some of these tickets are unique to the issuing company, but others are available on all buses throughout Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton. This opportunity for cheaper travel is to encourage both regular and potential travellers to use the comprehensive bus network for both work and leisure purposes.

EXPLORER NORTH EAST

“ Explorer North East “ is an extensive scheme, covering from the Scottish Border down to Thirsk, Ripon and Scarborough in the south and Carlisle in the west. You can travel the length and breadth of the region on local scheduled bus services operated by a number of companies – either buying your ticket on the first bus you board valid on the day of travel or in advance from bus company offices and agents. The scheme also includes the Tyne and Wear Metro, the Northern Rail Limited, Rail service between

Sunderland and Newcastle and the South Shields – North Shields Ferry. Some tourist attractions offer discounted admissions on presentation of a valid explorer ticket. Pick up an explorer leaflet at your local Bus Station or bus company office. Explorer tickets are valid for one day only as follows:

Monday to Friday after 0900.

All Day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

All Day (7 Days a week between 1 st

July & 31 st

August only).

All Day from Christmas Eve to 2 January (check service arrangements for Christmas & New Year).

BOROUGHBUS ROVER

Boroughbus Rover tickets enable you to travel anywhere in Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton on Boroughbus services (generally those numbered between 500 and 999). Rover tickets are available from the Driver after 1800 (6.00pm) Monday to Saturday and all day Sunday, Adult prices are £3.00

DAYTRIPPER TICKETS

Day Trippers are Go-As-You-Please bus tickets, valid for one day’s unlimited travel on Arriva and Stagecoach Buses.They are valid within the Boroughs of Middlesbrough and Stockton, plus the Eston area. These one-day tickets are bought from your driver, family day tickets are also now available, giving unlimited travel for two adults and up to three children within the selected area.

Prices at the time of publication are Adults: £4.00* , Children: £2.60* , Family Ticket: £8.00* (2 Adults & up to 3 Children under the age of 14 years old)

Please also note that Day Trippers are also valid for travel to & from Durham Tees Valley Airport on Arriva service 20.

* Additional note: prices of Trippers may vary depending on which operator you purchase your ticket from. Trippers purchased on Stagecoach buses are currently 5p cheaper than those purchased from Arriva.

EASYRIDER (WEEKLY/MONTHLY TICKETS)

Easyrider are Go-As-You-Please bus tickets, valid for travel on any bus at any time within Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton on Tees run by

Arriva, Stagecoach on Teesside, Stagecoach in Hartlepool, Compass Royston, and also on all Boroughbus services irrespective of operator. Boroughbus services are those services which are financially supported by the local authority where an operator feels that they cannot operate the service commercially. Easyrider tickets are valid for either one week (7 days) or one month (28 days). From Sunday 15 April 2007, weekly (7 Day) Easyriders can now be bought straight from the bus driver on whose bus you are travelling. Weekly and Monthly (28 day) tickets can also be bought from Bus Company travel shops . Please note: that 28 day tickets CANNOT be bought from the bus driver, you will therefore need to purchase your 28 day ticket from a bus company travel shop . There are currently two types of Easyrider, a Teesside Ticket which is valid for travel at any time in the boroughs of Middlesbrough, Stockton on Tees & in the Eston Area (Zones: 12, 21, 22, 30, 31, 32, 33, 40, 41, 42 & 50), and also an All

Zone Easyrider which is valid for travel at any time within the boroughs of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton on Tees (the former Cleveland

County). In addition All Zone Easyriders are also valid for travel to Great Ayton, Hinderwell, Hutton Rudby and Stokesley. Go NORTH EAST X10 Go “n“ SAVE BUS CARDS

These tickets are valid for use on Go North East Service X10 and in addition, the whole Go North East Bus Service network. Tickets can be purchased for either a Single

Day, Week or Monthly Travel. Current prices are Adult Day Ticket £5.20

These 7 day tickets are available only on Stagecoach Bus Services, and are bought from the driver. Current prices as at Sunday 9 November 2008 are £10.00

for unlimited travel on all Stagecoach services in the Borough of Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton; £12.80

for unlimited travel on all Stagecoach on Teesside and

Stagecoach in Hartlepool services in the above areas, plus the Borough of Hartlepool. Also available is the “ Coolrider “ ticket for Children, priced at £6.90

It is now possible to buy your Megarider & Megarider Plus Tickets for longer periods but this can only be done online. You can purchase a Teesside Megarider 4 Week

STAGECOACH NORTH EAST UNIRIDER

What is it: Unirider is a bus ticket you can use to get around everywhere.….lectures, cinema, shops …..wherever!.

From a little as 69p per day* you’ll be able to use your unirider on any Stagecoach North East bus, giving you the freedom to get up and go.

Unirider comes in six types 1 Annual (£209) , 2 Term 1 (£89) , 3 Term 2 (£89) , 4 Term 3 (£89) , 5 Term 2 & 3 (£148) and 6 Summer (£64) .

Where can u take your unirider?

: Unirider is valid on all Stagecoach North East buses throughout Tyne & Wear and Tees Valley, meaning you can hop on and off buses in Sunderland, Newcastle, South Shields, Hartlepool & Teesside. Unirider is also valid on the Quaylink service in Newcastle.

Tickets are valid as follows: Annual = ( 01.09.08 – 30.06.09) , Term 1 = ( 01.01.09 – 31.12.08) , Term 2 = (01.01.09 – 31.03.09) , Term 3 = (01.04.09 – 30.06.09) ,

ARRIVA ONE DAY TICKETS

These Tickets allow unlimited travel on Arriva North East or Arriva Northumbria Bus Services at any time with no peak peak hour restriction. For longer journeys, they are sometimes cheaper than a standard day return. Please note however these Tickets are not valid on Arriva North East Service X61. Current prices as at 30 March 2008 are

ARRIVA "GO ANYWHERE" TICKETS

This new ticket, available from your Arriva bus driver for £8.00

, offers a day's unlimited travel on all Arriva bus services throughout the UK (except on Green Line and TFL services and excursions) at any time on any day.

ARRIVA DAY RETURN TICKETS

Whatever your journey, if your single fare for travel on an Arriva North East Bus is £0.90 or more you can now save money by buying a Day Return, which gives a discount of up to 25% off the cost of two single tickets.

ARRIVA WEEKLY TICKETS

Weekly Arriva Saver Tickets are valid for 1 week for unlimited travel for any journey on Arriva buses in specific areas: Teesside & East Cleveland Saver (Covering

Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar, Guisborough and Runswick Bay, including Lingdale, Skelton, Saltburn & Loftus. The price of this Ticket is £16.00

per week.

ARRIVA ALL AREA PASS

This ticket which costs £22.00

per week, gives unlimited travel at any time on the entire Arriva North East and Arriva Northumbria Bus service network from Berwick in the

North to Scarborough in the South. This Ticket can be bought from the bus driver or from Local Arriva Travel Centres. For further details, contact any Arriva North East

RAIL TICKETS

There is a range of fares designed to suit customer requirements, and these include full fare and discounted tickets. Standard full fare tickets give complete freedom of travel at any time. Discounted Tickets such as Savers, Super Savers, peak and off peak day returns are particularly suitable for leisure travel and are available on many trains.

There are also season tickets for commuters, and Rover tickets for leisure travel. Rail and Travel Cards offer reductions on various types of ticket. Through ticketing is also available to Tyne and Wear Metro stations from Northern Rail Limited local services.

Each type of ticket and card has its own terms of travel which may limit the train, the time of day or the area of travel.
