INFORMATION GOVERNANCE AND EDISCOVERY SUMMIT 17 TH - 18 TH JUNE 2014 SWISSOTEL SYDNEY CBD PLATINUM SPONSOR GOLD SPONSORS BRONZE SPONSOR ABOUT THE EVENT “Lawyers are going to find themselves empowered by technological advances over the next decade to handle ever-increasing ediscovery workflows, where processing mere petabytes will seem ‘so 2014.” Jason Baron The Chilli IQ Information Governance and eDiscovery Summit has reached its eighth year and the 2014 event is going to set eDiscovery high on the corporate agenda. The event will tackle current leading topics relevant to all involved in litigation from the legal personnel at the coal face right through to the technology drivers at the heart of the legal system. Growing data volumes are driving e-discovery towards greater automation, most recently with the artificial intelligence technique known as predictive coding (recently recommended by the ALRC) . Whilst increased automation requires the use of statistical quality control methods based around sampling, and courts are increasingly demanding the use and reporting of such methods, practitioners will be looking at ways to reduce their clients’ discovery costs and increase reliability through adopting these techniques. The early announcement of two of the leading specialists in eDiscovery: Jason Baron, former Director of Litigation at U.S. National Archives and Records Administration and Judge Andrew Peck, from the US District Court, are both confirmed as keynotes. The 8th Information Governance and eDiscovery Summit is again proving why it is APAC’s leading event for eDiscovery. 8TH INFORMATION GOVERNANCE AND EDISCOVERY SUMMIT 1 7 t h - 1 8 t h J u n e 2 0 1 4 Sw i s s o te l Syd n e y C B D WHAT YOU WILL LEARN · Shifting in-source / out-source / off-shore balancing act · Predictive coding & analytics · General industry trends discussion · Information Governance - how to align privacy, cyber security, records & eDiscovery programs to minimise IG risk · eDiscovery Metrics - how can they help from pricing to timeframes - What’s happening that wasn’t expected. · Legal Project Management & eDiscovery - What’s not happening that was expected. · eCourts - What do you need to know to run an eCourt? - What works and why and what doesn’t? · The Cloud · Practice Note SC Eq 11 - Disclosure in the Equity Division How is it working 2 years on? - How is mobile technology changing the eCourt landscape? - Social Media – What you need to know from collection to production. - Why is it different and how is it growing as a rich source of evidence in some areas of law? 8TH INFORMATION GOVERNANCE AND EDISCOVERY SUMMIT 1 7 t h - 1 8 t h J u n e 2 0 1 4 Sw i s s o te l Syd n e y C B D ADVISORY PANEL 2014 BETH PATTERSON DIRECTOR APPLIED LEGAL TECHNOLOGY ALLENS JONATHAN PRIDEAUX NATIONAL MANAGER LEGAL TECHNOLOGY SERVICES CLAYTON UTZ BRIAN BORSKJAER DIRECTOR LEGAL TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS CORRS CHAMBERS WESTGARTH 8TH INFORMATION GOVERNANCE AND EDISCOVERY SUMMIT 1 7 t h - 1 8 t h J u n e 2 0 1 4 Sw i s s o te l Syd n e y C B D WHO WILL ATTEND This event has been exclusively produced to address the function and capacity of the following position holders from various industries, including: Legal, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Technology, Energy, Telecoms and others.
