Weston High School 2012 What are the LEAP, iLEAP, GEE and EOC test? A key component of Louisiana Accountability System is its statewide testing program. Each year, students in grades 2-11 participate in state assessments. Each of the 30 state assessments is based on Grade-Level Expectations, which reflect the knowledge and skills students should have acquired at the time of testing. LEAP (Louisiana Educational Assessment Program) —This is an assessment designed only for the 4th and 8th grade students. Students must score Basic or above in either English and Math and Approaching Basic or above in the other subject to advance to the next grade. iLEAP (Integrated) - This is an assessment designed for only 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students. GEE (Graduation Exit Exam) - This is an assessment designed for 10th and 11th grade students. Students must score Approaching Basic or above in English and Math and either Science or Social Studies in order to graduate. THIS IS THE LAST YEAR FOR THE GEE. EOC (End of Course) - The EOC will replace the GEE beginning with freshmen entering high school in the 2010-2011 school year. This a computer based test and will serve as their final exam grade counting 15% of their overall grade. The four achievement levels are Excellent, Good, Fair and Needs Improvement.
