Attendance is not mandatory. However, the best place for learning is the classroom. Past experience has
shown that the students who attend the classes get higher grades. Moreover, we may cover additional
material in the class that is not covered in the textbook. Therefore, we as the instructors of CHEM 101
strongly recommend you to attend the classes.

Important Note!!!
All sections (01 and 02) will take common exams. Most of the exams will be over the material that is
covered after the previous exam. However, the course builds on the material that has been delivered
earlier. So, the concepts; calculations and techniques from earlier exams may be required. The Final Exam
will cover all the topics studied during entire semester. Exams will be a comprehensive multiple-choice
exam, however you MUST show your work on the exam paper (solution of each question) to get full credit
for each question.
N/A Grade!!!
If you do not satisfy the following conditions, you will get N/A grade:
1.
The final exam is required for every student who wants to receive credit for this course.
2.
To be eligible to take the final exam, the sum of your 1 and 2 midterms’ grades should be minimum
50 over 200.
3.
If the student gets “0” from 2 experiments, he/she cannot take the final exam and fails both from the
laboratory and the course. Keep in mind that a student can take maximum 2 make-ups, if he/she has a
medical report.
