Social psychiatrists help test the cross-cultural use of psychiatric diagnoses and assessments of need or disadvantage. Social psychiatry has been particularly associated with the development of therapeutic communities, and to highlighting effect of socioeconomic factors on mental illness. Social psychiatrists often focus on rehabilitation in a social context to facilitating the social inclusion of people with mental health problems. Pr. Driss Moussaoui, Professor of Psychiatry, head of psychiatry department, Ibn Roshd Faculty of Medicine, Casablanca, Morocco is the actual president of the World Association For Social Psychiatry (WASP). By becoming member of WASP, PHASE is now a pioneer mental health institution in social psychiatry in Egypt. Love is the basis for all the other values. Doctors can infuse courage in patients by the love they show towards the patients. It was a perfect act. “ Gandhi Rehabilitation Training For Women Victims Of Violence Conference On The Psychological Aspects of Violence Against Women Pr. Unaiza Niaz, Psychiatry Professor, Lahore University Pakistan, Head of Women Mental Health Section at the World Psychiatric Association and PHASE gave a conference in January 2012 . and civil society actors. The conference was held at PHASE premises and was attended by more than 70 people : Her Excellency Ambassador of Pakistan, many diplomats, university professors It included the presentation of Mawadda (program treating women victims of violence) statistical results and testimony of treated women. The conference aimed at introducing the Pakistani and Egyptian experiences in dealing with the psychological aspects of violence against women. “The healthy man does not torture others. Generally it is the tortured who turn into torturers.” Carl Jung Rehabilitation Training For Women Victims Of Violence PHASE is offering a Rehabilitation Training for 15 women treated by PHASE team for violence. This training is offered by professionals volunteering during many months to enable these women to acquire self awareness and empowerment through many awareness and training sessions that will help them to become active members of the society and to prevent their relapse. Although women represent 50% of the population, and children under 15 years 34% of Egyptian population, mental health facilities devoted to them in Egypt are still very rare and difficult to access because of social stigma and lack of efficient referral system.
