ELPD Fundraiser
Slated For June 17
The Eagle Lake Police Department (ELPD) will hold their 5th
Annual Fundraiser on Thursday,
June 17 at the Eagle Lake
Community Center from 5 to 7:30
p.m. Tickets are $8.00 a plate.
The meal is being catered by
Austin's BBQ and consists of BBQ
beef, buttered potatoes, beans and
all the trimmings. A drive-thru
line will be available as well as
indoor seating.
A silent auction will be held
inside, starting at 5 and ending
at 7:30 pm.
Door prizes will be awarded,
must be present to win door
prizes.
Items purchased with the 4th
annual equipment funds include:
Vet bills, boarding fees, training
fees, and equipment for Lulu and
her handler's car, digital cameras
for investigations, wearable video
cameras for investigations, taser
training, tasers, taser cartridges,
taser security holsters, Ballistic
rated protective eyewear, officers
uniforms, overhead emergency
lights. Evidence management
training, officer survival training
literature, field training officer
school, woman in law enforcement training and street survival
training.

the Eagle Lake Police Department by calling, 979-234-2727.
Anyone wanting to donate
a silent auction item or make a
monetary donation should call
234-2727 and ask to speak to Lt.
David Wiese.

Bacculaureate For
Seniors On May 23
The Ministerial Alliance of
Eagle Lake announces its annual Community Baccalaureate
service for the Class of 2010.
The service will be held at 4
p.m. Sunday, May 23, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church,
located at the corner of Lake and
Prairie in Eagle Lake.
Rev. Kevin Collison of First
Baptist and Rev. Ralph Morgan
of Christ Episcopal Church are
planning the program. Pastors of
several other area churches will
participate and bring words of encouragement for the graduates.
The Baccalaureate will be a
special service of Worship and
Blessing for all students in the
area who are graduating from
high school.
The Baccalaureate is the
traditional spiritual and Christian commencement service for
graduating seniors. In years past
the service has included singing,
scripture readings and prayers of
blessing for the graduates.
We welcome all graduating
senior students in our communities. Many students in our community will be graduating from
private or home school as well
as public schools in surrounding
communities.
All are welcome to this service.
Any senior student of Rice High
School, as well as any graduating
senior student living in our community is invited.
The Alliance wants to extend
a personal invitation to every
graduating senior in our community.
If you are a graduating senior student on our community
whether private or home school,
Rice High School or any other
public school, we want you to
attend this wonderful service in
your honor.

Seniors need to bring their caps
and gowns and assemble at the
church by 3:30 p.m.
Parents, faculty, administration, school board members,
and the whole community are all
