Regarding Document Preparation for UQ Admissions
To ensure that there are no unnecessary delays in processing your students’
applications for UQ BEL (Faculty of Business, Economics and Law) programs, tick
each box when each item has been completed or attached

Application Stage
Fill in the Application Form for Graduate Coursework Studies (for Master
degrees) correctly (downloadable at
http://www.uq.edu.au/international/application-forms). Please note the
following when filling in the application form.
√ Fill in the short code for the articulation program in the “Event ID” under the
right hand “Agent Use Only” section of the application form, eg. “YZU 1+1
MBus”.
√ Make sure the name of the applicant is identical with the name in his/her
passport.
√ Choose the right program code for the BEL programs (Attachment 1)
√ No need to fill in the details for “Payment of application fee” as the
application fee will be waived for YZU articulation students (YZU Event ID
demonstrates that students are part of the YZU articulation cohorts and hence
the application fee can be waived. So it’s very important to indicate Event ID
in the form)
√ Tick “Yes” for “claim credit or exemption” as 1+1 involve credit transfer.
√ Tick “Yes” for “prefer an offer even if the credit or exemption assessment has
not been completed” because the YZU student applies for credits when they
arrive at UQ not before arriving at UQ (YZU students need to fill in the
credit application form when they come to UQ as at the offer stage they
haven’t submitted the full transcripts. The credit application process is
mentioned later in this document.).
√ Sign and date the form
Fill in the English Language Studies Enrolment Form (downloadable at the
same UQ application form website:
http://www.uq.edu.au/international/application-forms) if the students apply for
a package offer involving Bridging English Program (BEP) or English For
Academic Purposes (EAP) Program. Information about the UQ English
Language Pathway is available at http://www.icte.uq.edu.au/uq-pathways .
√
The 10-week Bridging English Program articulated to 2014 Semester 1 UQ
Degree Program starts on Monday 30 September 2013. The BEP course
acceptance deadline falls on Friday 16 August 2013. It is suggested that the
BEP application should be submitted by mid or late July 2013.
IELTS or TOEFL test result copy (original is not needed) with the TRF
number clearly identifiable or original TOEFL iBT result directly sent from
the testing centre to UQ or other Proof of English language proficiency.
√ Currently UQ BEL Faculty programs require IELTS (Academic Module)
overall Band Score of 6.5, with a minimum score of 6 in all sub-bands
(writing, speaking, reading and listening) or TOEFL iBT overall Band Score
of 90 with 21 at least in writing and 20 at least in speaking, listening and
reading.
Certified copies of the complete English and Chinese 8-semester Bachelor
academic transcripts and YZU postgraduate MBA transcript with grading
systems or their originals
√ The transcript copies can be certified by the program liaison person in the
YZU relevant department by his/her writing “Certified as true copy of the
original.”, dating and signing his/her name on the copies.
√ The transcripts are only deemed original in the sealed university envelope.
Certified Bachelor Degree Award Certificate.
E-mail all the applications one by one direct to UQ International Admission
(applicationstatus@uq.edu.au) and CC to Mr. Michael Chen
(mchen@bel.uq.edu.au) by the application deadline (15 November for
Semester 1 and 15 April for Semester 2). The application should be prepared
in PDF format with the following naming style to the PDF document. Make
sure to send one separate e-mail for each applicant instead of sending all the
applications in one e-mail.
√ Naming format in the E-mail Subject line as follows:
Application: YZU 1+1 MBus 13S2 (for semester 2, 2013 in July 2013) : Mr.
CHANG Wen-Hsin or
Application: YZU 1+1 BEP 13 Sep + MBus 14S1: Mr. CHANG Wen-Hsin (if
it’s a package application with an English pathway program)
√ Naming format of the electronic application document as follows:
Application_YZU 1+1 MBus 13S2_Mr CHANG Wen-Hsin.pdf
( Alternatively, instead of e-mailing the application through, YZU
can choose to courier mail the above application documents for a group
of students direct to UQ International Admission by the required
application deadline together with a list of applicants as the cover page
and indicate the articulation program code (eg. YZU 1+1 MBus) on the
mailing letter

ARO (Acceptance and Response to Offer) Stage
Return via E-mail the following scanned ARO documents in one single PDF
file to UQ International Admissions (iasdocuments@uq.edu.au) and CC Mr.
Michael Chen
1) Completed and signed ARO;
2) Completed and signed Payment Details Form;
3) T/T Payment Bank Slip with the bank’s stamp and the applicant’s name
and student ID mentioned in the description of the bank slip

Before Coming to UQ
Submit the certified copy of the student’s full PG transcript (final 2 semester
results for postgraduate level study) and award certificate (if applicable) in
PDF format to Mr. Michael Chen Please submit the transcript as soon as the
full transcript becomes available (ideally before the student arrives at UQ) in
order to finalise the student’s credit.

Keep a copy of the student’s full transcript and award certificate (if applicable)
at the home university, if necessary for future reference.
Ask the student to bring the original full transcript and award certificate (if
applicable) with them in the event that verification is necessary, or the student
wishes to undertake further study.
Plan for the students’ arrival at UQ with information about visa,
accommodation, health insurance etc at UQ International website
(http://www.uq.edu.au/international-students/plan-your-arrival). Some

o Jump Start Academic Preparation Program (JSAPP): four-day
program to help you settle into UQ. Sessions include assignment and
thesis writing, study approaches and exam preparation
Arriving at UQ
For 1+1 Master articulation, fill in the form of Credit or Exemption for
Previous Studies (available at http://www.uq.edu.au/myadvisor/forms-online)
and submit to UQ Business School) to officially obtain the credits;
Contact BEL Faculty (international@bel.uq.edu.au ) as soon as possible if
there are any discrepancies with credit granted.

Appointment and Changes of the Liaison Person in YZU
Notify the responsible UQ Admissions Officer (currently Ms Belinda Kennedy,
e-mail: b.kennedy3@uq.edu.au) immediately of any changes to the liaison
person and his/her new contact details (e-mail, telephone, fax, working
mailing address etc.) and CC to Mr. Michael Chen.
