Writers Read Hosts Bich Minh Nguyen March 11 Acclaimed author Bich Minh Nguyen will read and discuss her work at College of DuPage on Monday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in HSC 1234.This free event, cosponsored by the Creative Writing committee and the Asian Studies committee, is part COD’s “Writer's Read” series, which brings authors to COD for readings and discussions. Nguyen's memoir Stealing Buddha's Dinner, released in 2007, received the PEN/Jerard Award from the PEN American Center and was a Chicago Tribune Best Book of 2007, a Kiriyama Prize Notable Book, and an Asian American Literature Award finalist. Naperville native Matt Armstrong (left) attended College of DuPage after securing a John Belushi Memorial Scholarship, which he received for two consecutive years. “I think College of DuPage had a better theater department than I would find at any regular four-year schools,” he said. Read More Double Kudos to…Physics students Alyssa Bowes of Glen Ellyn and Jaime Bryant of Woodridge who were recently invited to attend the Conference on Undergraduate Women in Physics held at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. Bowes and Bryant were the only two community college students among the more than 170 attendees at the sixth annual event. Activities included a career panel, a graduate student panel and an undergraduate research panel.
