Gerdau is currently seeking a Management Systems Facilitator II/Quality Engineer for its Petersburg, VA facility. ****Relocation assistance available**** Overview: This position will assist the site Plant Management in implementing Management Systems processes. The major role of this job is to focus on continuous improvement and integration of business processes, identifying benchmarks and best practices, consistent application of the GBS (Gerdau Business System), and act as a change agent to help achieve a higher level of results within the assigned location by utilizing and implementing Management Systems processes. Responsibilities: Assist the site Plant Management in implementing the Gerdau Business System (GBS) for the assigned location. Conduct audits and helping to manage and maintain KPI records Facilitate training sessions and conduct follow up on standardization, audits, failure analysis, results management, 5S, QIS, and other areas pertaining to the standardization of production and business systems processes. Perform training sessions for all employees in the Management Systems policies, practices and processes. This position will also train employees to maintain failure analysis databases, routine management, GAP analysis and the facilitation of process mapping. Collaborate with other site Management Systems Facilitators on subjects pertaining to the GBS processes, benchmarks, audits/housekeeping efforts, 5S initiatives and process improvement methodologies. Assist with the development of the Annual Action Plan, and the administration of established policies, practices, and procedures. Provide support in implementation, maintenance, and follow up on the IT systems related to the Management Systems processes. The major challenge for this position will be to gain buy-in from the location management team and serving as a coach to all employees, as well as successfully engaging employees to be committed to the GBS philosophy, processes, and methodologies. The Management Systems Facilitator II must possess good communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, give feedback, resolve conflicts, and point out areas where improvement is needed, as well as the ability to develop a positive relationship with employees in order to develop credibility. Must be results-oriented and have the ability to motivate others. The Management Systems Facilitator II must perform the above mentioned duties and responsibilities in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations. Employees must also report any situation that may have a detrimental impact to human health or the environment to their immediate supervisor.
