The external and internal facades were all installed with limestone quarried in France. 60-75 mm thick lime stone panels were installed with mechanical fixations on to a concrete substrate. HAZ Marble supplied the Museum of Islamic Arts Project in Doha with fixing systems and natural stone. The design of the stone, shop drawings and cutting lists were done in the company. The facade comprises a total of 60.000 sqm of limestone and is built with adjustable L angles. The building was built on a man made island and the surroundings which are covered with 5,5 ton granite blocks. These massive blocks were erected vacuum lifting equipment and fixed in to place using specially designed fixing systems.
