1. The Philippines Federation of Chemistry Societies (PFCS) in partnership with the University
of San Carlos's Department of Chemistry and Chemistry Students' Association (ChemSA) will
be conducting the Regional Chemistry Olympiad 2016 on February 6, 2015 at the Arnoldus
Science Complex of the University of San Carlos-Talamban Campus.
2. In line with this, they are inviting students (please see attached files for the names of the
students) together with their respective coaches to participate in the said activity. There
will be a registration fee of 200Php for each of the students and the coaches.
3. For further details, please refer to the attached communication and other related
documents.

GUIDELINES
A. THE CONTESTANTS

2. Participants shall f

starts at 7:30 AM. Registration f
ee of PhP 200.00 per student and per coach is required upon
registrat
ion. The fee includes snacks, lunch, pr
izes and certif
icates.
3. Participants shall weartheir properschool unif
orm and valid school IDs.
B. WRITTEN EXAMINATION
1. A 50-item multiple choice examinat
ion shall be taken up by the participants. The examination is good
for 90 minutes.
2. Strictly NO EXTENSION WILL BE GIVEN FOR LATECOMERS.
3. Coverage ofthe examination include topics from general chemistry, basic organic chemistry and basic
biochemistry.
4. The Part
icipants are only allowed to bringthe followingwith diem duringthe examination: calculator
(programmable and pocket calculators are prohibited); pen; pencil; eraser; and water. They are not
allowed t
o bring with them their bags, review materials, books, scratch papers. Inspect
ion shall be
performed before the examination starts.
