The Philippines Federation of Chemistry Societies (PFCS) in partnership with the
University of San Carlos's Department of Chemistry and Chemistry Students' Association
(ChemSA) will be conducting the Regional Chemistry Olympiad 2016 on February 6, 2015 at the
Arnoldus Science Complex of the University of San Carlos- Talamban Campus.
In line with this, they are inviting students (please see attached files for the names of the
students) together with their respective coaches to participate in the said activity. There will be a
registration fee of 200php for each of the students and the coaches.

documents.

Greetings with peace and joy!
The Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies (PFGS) in partnership with University of San Carlos' Department of
Chemistry and Chemistry Students' Association (ChemSA) will be holding the Regional Chemistry Olympiad 2016.
The Olympiad aims to select delegates to represent Region VII in the Philippine National Chemistry Olympiad (PNCO)
this con-ting May 2016.
In connection to this, we would like invite the following students (attached file) together with their respective
coaches to represent their provinces to the Regional Chemistry Olympiad on February 6, 2015, 7:30 AM at the
Arnoldus Science Complex of tfie University of San Carlos - Talamban Campus.
Registration fee of PhP 200.00 for each of the students and the coaches is required. The registration fee shall cover
their snacks, lunch, prizes and certificates. Transportation and registration fee shall be charged to the local attending
school fund. Attached herewith are the guidelines of the competition.

GUIDELINES
A. THE CONTESTANTS
1. AH participants must confirm their attendance on or before January 29,2016.
2. Participants shall fill up the registration forms an hour before the competition starts. Registration
starts at 7:30 AM. Registration fee of PhP 200.00 per student and per coach is required upon
registration. The fee includes snacks, lunch, prizes and certificates.
3. Participants shall wear their proper school uniform and valid school IDs.
B. WRITTEN EXAMINATION
1. A 50-item multiple choice examination shall be taken up by the participants. The examination is good
for 90 minutes.
2. Strictly NO EXTENSION WILL BE GIVEN FOR LATECOMERS.
3. Coverage of the examination include topics from general chemistry, basic organic chemistry and basic
biochemistry.
4. The Participants are only allowed to bring the following with them during the examination: calculator
(programmable and pocket calculators are prohibited); pen; pencil; eraser; and water. They are not
allowed to bring with them their bags, review materials, books, scratch papers. Inspection shall be
performed before the examination starts.
5. The coaches shall wait in the specified holding room until the examination is finished. Coaches are
prohibited to enter the examination room.
6. each question is worth one point
7. Questions regarding the examination shall be addressed only to the proctor assigned in the room.
8. Scratch papers and periodic table of elements shall be provided by the proctors.
9. The top three scorers shall represent Region VII for the Philippine National Chemistry Olympiad 2016
on May 2016.
