Next year, it will be held from 24 June – 3 July. The 12th edition of the CULLY CLASSIQUE Festival closed last night with a concert staging Swiss pianist Béatrice Berrut. During 10 days, the Festival attracted more than 7000 people who attended 22 paying concerts, close to 30 free concerts, as well as many other activities. A total of 130 artists and 150 staff members participated in this 12th edition placed under the theme “Impromptu”. Locals provided close to 700 overnight stays. The Festival continues to grow Thanks to its unique combination of high-quality artistic programme and relaxed and friendly atmosphere, CULLY CLASSIQUE continues to seduce an ever-growing and enthusiastic audience. This year, attendance to paying concerts increased by 7% percent, 8 concerts were sold out and tickets sales rose to close to 10%. The Festival continues to attract an increasingly loyal audience, with a net growth of Festival Pass sales compared to past editions. As a result of the rising success of the Festival’OFF, open-air concerts and bars by the lake registered a record attendance this year. 10 days of concerts and unforgettable encounters Once again, CULLY CLASSIQUE succeeded in combining internationally renowned stars and young talents in an exciting programme comprising four concert series. Some of the unforgettable moments of this 12th edition include Piotr Anderszewski and Marielle & Katia Labèques’ concerts during the first weekend, Nikolai Lugansky’s exceptional recital on Saturday June 27th at the Temple and Georgian pianist Tamar Beraia’s truly enchanting candle-lit Nocturne concert at Notre-Dame on Thursday June 25th. The Découverte serie, which aims at promoting young talented musicians, was again met with great success. Attributed for the first time in 2014, the “Coup de coeur Piguet Galland” was awarded this year to cellist Astrig Siranossian. This reward offers a recording under Claves Records, as well as a serie of concerts in Switzerland, including a performance during the 2016 edition of the Festival. Festival’OFF and young audience With a programme ranging from the classical Préludes series to Billie Bird’s folk music and the Cirque des Mirages’ expressionistic cabaret, the Festival’OFF truly enchanted its audience, offering close to 30 free concerts on the open-air stage by the lake. For its second edition, the Carrefour des étudiants project distinguished itself with its flash-conferences and multidisciplinary artistic activities organized around the theme “Impromptu”. This year once again, the “Cully Plage” radio show was broadcast live from the Festival on Espace 2 from Tuesday to Friday between 6 and 7 pm: Piotr Anderszewski, Adam Laloum, Mauro Peter, Henri Demarquette, Fabrizio Chiovetta and many other artists were interviewed by Charles Sigel. More than 50 young musicians performed during the Family Day, to the great pleasure of both children and adults. A glimpse at 2016 The 13th edition will be held from 24 June to 3 July 2016 and will aim at reinforcing the local presence of the Festival. Placed under the theme “Limited”, it will be dedicated to masterpieces that were composed within situations of financial, physical or intellectual deprivation. Created within a context of shortage or restriction, these works go straight to the essential and mark by their intensity and their integrity. The CULLY CLASSIQUE Festival would like to thank all those who have trusted in it: its main partner, the Banque Piguet Galland, as well as its other sponsors and suppliers, its audience, staff, volunteers and lodgers.
