This brief review course is designed to
prepare students for the CSET - California
Subject Exams for Teachers: English. This
is the standardized exam that future K-12
teachers must pass prior to being hired as a
teacher for particular subjects.

III. CATALOG DESCRIPTION
This short-term course is designed to prepare students for standardized, timed tests. Each course
focuses on a single test or subtest. Specific content for each course is determined by the
particular test for which students are preparing.
IV. MAJOR LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course a student will be able to:
A. Access informational materials relevant to the CSET Math Exam
B. Analyze test format and content relevant to the CSET Math Exam
C. Differentiate among types of questions on the CSET Math Exam and formulate
appropriate responses
D. Analyze and adopt test taking and scoring strategies relevant to the CSET Math Exam
E. Adopt test-taking behavior that reduces anxiety and stress, and increases concentration.
F. Develop a plan for studying for the CSET Math Exam including evaluation of materials
and recommended resources, and making informed choices based on experience with and
knowledge of the exam.
