Pastor Amy’s Sabbatical | December 26, 2012—March 16, 2013
The Crossing Church, along with the General Church of the Nazarene (Manual for 2009 -2013 section 129.10),
recognizes the need to encourage a healthy pastoral ministry and the lifelong learning of the pastor by providing
full-time pastors a sabbatical leave after each 7 consecutive years of service in one congregation. We also
recognize the benefit and wisdom of a Sabbath renewal. God’s Sabbath principle, applied to their ministries,
provides an opportunity to rededicate one’s life and work to the Lord, reacquire God’s perspective and freshen
one’s spiritual health. In this way, the entire Body of Christ benefits and is blessed by the pastoral Sabbath.
While Pastor Amy is on sabbatical, the following individuals will be covering her ministry responsibilities:

Main Event | Talent and Sport Competition
Pastor Jay Hawes grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and has been married to his
beautiful wife, Janet, for almost 10 years. They have four children:
Brooklynn, 8; Kendall, 7; Morgann, 5; and Wesley, 3. After attending
college, Jay enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served for 6-1/2
years before taking a job working in Broomfield. After two years, he left his
job to pursue full-time ministry. He is currently a student at Denver
Seminary working towards an M.Div. in Leadership with an anticipated
graduation date of May 2013. On November 25, 2012, he accepted a call to
pastor Faith Venture Church in Commerce City. Jay's passions include reading leadership books, following
(unfortunately) Cleveland sports teams, but ultimately, building the Kingdom of God.
Musicians, Actors and Athletes interested in participating need to contact Pastor Chris. Registration forms
and $35 deposit are due Wednesday, January 23.

Children ages 2 —5 years will sing in the ‘Lil HIP KIDZ Christmas Choir during worship services. Please
take your kids to their class rooms a little early so they have time to line up.

Children grades Kindergarten —6 who are not singing in the Christmas musical are invited to watch the
program with their parents during worship service.

PrimeTime Ministry (ages 55+) | IMAX Theater & Lunch: Wednesday, January 16 :
We will be taking the shuttle and leaving CCON at 9:30 am to see 3D presentations of “Deep Sea” and
“Space Junk.” Cost is $13 (due by Sunday, January 5) plus lunch at the Museum (dutch treat). Please sign
up at the Information Center. Space on the shuttle is limited to 22.

Monday
Pray that we will remember the reason for the season and give honor and glory
to Christ Jesus.
Tuesday
Pray for a number of our members and friends of CCON who have surgeries
scheduled this month.
Wednesday
Remember to pray for those who are in nursing homes, assisted living facilities
and are shut-in at home.
Thursday
Pray for those who had a loved one die this past year since it is especially
difficult during the holidays.
Friday
Pray for each pastor, spouse and their children during the Advent / Christmas
season.
Saturday
Pray that the Lord will continue to bless our church in a special way this
December and in 2013.
