Greener Grass Mowing Company 78 Woodley Lane, Mayfield, Oregon 28915 www.ggmowing.com Phone: (375)554-3333 March 26, 2015 Mr. Chris Paul, Mayor of Augusta 100 Main Street Augusta, Oregon 29343 Dear Mr. Paul, We appreciate the opportunity to respond to Augusta’s Request for Proposal (RFP) lawnmowing agreement in the Daily Mayfield newspaper dated March 10, 2015. We are currently providing services for Joy Land amusement park in Augusta and hope to eventually work for the city of Augusta. This proposal will provide you information about our company, the equipment we use, and our safety procedures. We also include details of what our budgeted labor hours and estimated costs would be so you can rest assure, if chosen, your city lawns will be taken care of safely at a reasonable price. About Us We have been in the landscaping business for 20 years. We have worked with private client and towns all over Oregon. We understand the impact a good looking lawn can have on people. We provide quality landscaping services at an affordable price. Equipment Description Page 1 of 7 To begin, our company uses state of the art equipment that are best for the job at hand. We use different equipment brands to ensure quality. For the proposed locations, we would use a combination of the Sonic Turbo Wide-Area Mower and Alamo Machete 2. Sonic Turbo Wide-Area Mower This mower is equipped with a wide deck which provides a great deal of coverage and quality to the cut. The wide coverage allows us to a lot of ground at once which helps us to reduce labor hours. It also has sensors around to prevent the mowing of animals. This mower is the best in its class and would be used mainly for the golf courses, the parks, and most of Route 24. Alamo Machete 2. This mower has long hand and rotatable cutting head that delivers quality cuts. The long hand allows our staff to reach the high heights. The rotatable head allows our workers to reach tight corners that other mowers cannot reach. The mower’s industrial quality allows the mower to cut very well. Ultimately, we would use this mower to finish the hard to reach edges on the sidings of Route 24 and the hedges in the park. The images below are pictures of our team members using our state of the art mowers on the Mayfield’s Golf Course and finishing up the edges on Mayfield’s Route 34. I have included these images to show the results of the combination of our certified staff and our state of the art equipment. Page 2 of 7 Image 1: State of the art equipment being used on Mayfield’s Golf Course Image 2: State of the art mower mowing the edges of Route 34 SAFETY We ensure to take many safety precautions because safety is a high priority for our company. Our safety procedures include securing the perimeter of a mowing site to ensure that no pedestrians are nearby, and we require all of our staffs to wear a reflective jacket, gloves, boots and protective eyewear while on the job. Our staffs are certified by the Professional Landscape network (PLANET), and are well trained in industry and company’s safety procedures. Additionally, we ensure that all our staffs are properly trained before they pick up any equipment. Page 3 of 7 For ten consecutive years, we have won the PLANET’s award for safest landscaping company in our region. Over the last fifteen years of operations, no one has been injured on the job. This is a result of our safety training program and emphasis on safety on the job. Below is a photograph showing our staff mowing an office lawn in protective gear. No matter how safe a location is our employees still maintain safety procedures. Image 3: Staff mowing in visible protective gear. LABOR BREAK DOWN The amount of labor hours required varies depending on the locations. Willoughby Park: We would budget for four workers on this site. Three workers would be mowing and the last one supervising and ensuring safety of both employees and people passing by. This site should take us about three hours to complete each day with 12 labor hours a week. Augusta Memorial Golf Course: We would budget for four workers on this location. Three would be mowing, and the last one will supervise and ensure safety measures are being implemented. This mowing should take about four hours each day to complete, a total of 32 labor hours a week. Route 24: Page 4 of 7 We would need three workers for this site. One worker would be mowing the sidings another finishing the edges driving behind the mower, and the last would be the supervisor ensuring safety of drivers and employees. This location should take no longer than two hours each day to complete with 6 labor hours a week. WEEKLY SCHEDULE We visited all the sites and based our schedule off when they were least busy. This will not only help us do our job faster but with less risk. We estimate that it will take 14 hours a week to take care of the proposed sites. The table below shows how we have carefully planned out our weekly schedule. Below is an easy way to visually skim the process of how we would be operating.
