2 NATIONAL AWARDS FOR CAMPAIGNS CEBU IN WHAT CAME as a total, but pleasant, surprise for Cebu-based advertising agency, Campaigns Cebu, the company won two (2) awards in the recently-concluded Catholic Mass Media Awards held last Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at the San Carlos Seminary Auditorium in Guadalupe, Makati City. Besting other entries from Manila agencies, were Campaigns Cebu’s entries in the Best Print – Branded and Best TV Ad – Public Service. For the Best Print – Branded, Julie’s Bakeshop’s “Everyday Heroes” 2009 Calendar won, a full-colored homage that featured the people around us who serve as heroes: nurses, teachers, carpenters, seamstresses, and OFWs. In the Best TV Ad – Public Service category, CCCI’s “Preparedness” ad won top honors, a 30second commercial that depicted how public school students hold classes outdoors for lack of classrooms, and are prepared for rain with their umbrellas. The ad also won top honors in this year’s Cebu Archdiocesan Awards. “Last year, our entry for Julie’s Calendar 2008 was also a finalist so becoming a finalist this year was a nice feat,” shares Zen Pastoriza, General Manager and Executive Creative Director of Campaigns Cebu, “and when our partners in Manila informed us of our victories, we were over the moon with excitement!” The awards are a testament to the agency’s in-depth experience and creative outlook on the needs of its clients like Julie’s Bakeshop and special causes like the Cebu Chamber’s Adopt-a-School Program. With these wins, Campaigns Cebu, a subsidiary of Campaigns & Grey, becomes the very first advertising agency outside Metro Manila to win major national honors, and puts the agency alongside industry giants like TBWA, Leo Burnett, and BBDO-Guerrero, who have won in the same categories in past years. Pastoriza adds, “We’re celebrating our 15th year this year, and the awards we’ve reaped – from the CAMMA to the CMMA – are fitting gifts for our birthday as a company.” Campaigns Cebu’s trophies from the Catholic Mass Media Awards: Best TV Ad – Public Service (left) and Best Print – Branded (right).
