Sales Manager Sandman Hotel Group – Sandman Hotel, Prince George Job Details Job Summary: This position is a regional sales role for the Sandman Hotel & Sandman Signature Hotel based out of the sales office at the Sandman Hotel, Prince George. The focus of this position is will be achieving personal sales goals and market driven revenue targets for both hotels. This is to be achieved through sales activities and strategies that relate to the development of strong relationships with local companies, government office, sports organizations and the community as a whole for their individual & group travel and meeting requirements. Responsibilities: - - Primary focus of the position is to drive guestroom revenue into the Sandman Hotel property. Work with the property General Managers and sales team to develop & execute plans to achieve activity goals and hotel revenue targets. Acquire and maintain profitable accounts including account plans. Solicit new business through: o Planned Calls o Outside Sales Solicitation calls o Building client relationships o Maintain a prominent community presence, including attendance at local & regional tradeshows, special events and community gatherings. Liaise with Regional, Provincial and National sales colleagues toward the development of opportunities for the Sandman Hotel in Prince George and the Company as a whole. Manage the internal rate loading process and communicate with our Central Contracting and central reservations offices as directed. Develop leads for –and from- all Sandman, Signature and Sutton Place Hotel locations. Achieve weekly, monthly and yearly quotas of the assigned market segments, including revenue goals, prospecting, sales call and lead generation quotas as set by senior management. Conduct hotel site inspections and on-site meetings. Participate in industry and community functions, building sales opportunities for the Hotel Actively participate in regular Sales and Revenue meetings Understand the competition and contribute to leveraging the hotel's features and benefits toward greater market share. Become proficient with Maestro and Maximizer, ensuring databases and accounts are updated regularly. Job Requirements: - Previous Hotel Sales experience -or other sales & public relations experience- is preferred. - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Superior organizational and time management skills are necessary - Good negotiation and strong sales skills are required - Comprehensive understanding of Online Booking Tools, GDS viewership, and rate loading will be an asset in this role. - Must have own vehicle and a valid driver's license, with travel throughout Prince George as well as quarterly travel to Terrace, Smithers and other areas within the regions. Although this is a full-time day-time role, the candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
