The Duval County School System in Jacksonville, Florida, has
170 schools, of which 103 are elementary, 25 middle schools,
19 senior, three exceptional education centers, five special
schools, 13 charter schools, and two academies of technology.
Terry Parker High School is located in the Arlington area of
Duval County, Florida. The geographic area served by Terry
Parker extends north from the Regency area to the base of the
Dames Pointe Bridge, and west to the St. Johns River; it
includes students who live in the communities of Arlington,
Regency, and Ft. Caroline. Community involvement and
support are strong and contribute significantly to the quality of
education available to students.

Terry Parker is a comprehensive high school serving grades 912. A broad spectrum of academic and extra-curricular
activities is available to provide many opportunities for
individual development. In May of 2012, Terry Parker was
authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma
Program.

MEDIA CENTER/TECHNOLOGY
The media center’s collection consists of 26,000 plus volumes,
subscriptions to local and national newspapers and access to
articles from several hundred periodicals via the internet.
There are 30 computers for internet research in the media
center, plus four in each classroom. Terry Parker also has 4
computer labs on campus, housing 25 computers each.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
(Seniors graduating in 2013-2014)
All graduates must demonstrate “minimum competency” in
mathematics and communications as measured by the High
School Competency Test or the Florida Comprehensive
Assessment Test (FCAT). In addition, 24 credits are required
with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0.

CLASS RANK
All students are ranked at the end of the every year and at the
end of the first semester of the twelfth grade. Rank is
determined by grade point average using marks earned in all
high school subject areas. All standard courses use: A=4,
B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0. Honors are weighted with one half
additional quality point: A=4.5, B=3.5, C=2.5, D=1.5, F=0.
AP courses are weighted with one half additional quality
point: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, F=0.
