

Master student in statistics (GPA: 4/4)
Courses taken: regression, time series, nonparametric analysis, multivariate statistics, etc.
Peking University, Beijing, China

2006 - 2010
Bachelor of science in environmental sciences (GPA: 3.8/4)
RESEARCH
Atmospheric chemistry model development
Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia

Develop modules (coding) and incorporate them into an air pollution model called REAM
that simulates the physical and chemical processes of ozone pollution events.

Use updated REAM to analyze 1) how varied sources of pollution contribute to ozone
pollution; 2) how natural factors such as meteorology interact with anthropogenic
pollution; and 3) how the interaction impact on a climate scale
Environmental data analysis
Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia

Process data from multiple sources, including satellite, monitoring stations, and model
simulations and evaluate the ability of the model (REAM) to reproduce observations.

Use multiple spatial-temporal statistical methods to analyze the long-term, multi-station
ozone records from EPA.

Use factor analysis to investigate the relationship between meteorological parameters and
ozone concentrations.
Laboratory study on toxicity of pollutants
Peking University, Beijing, China

Build a novel passive sampler to measure the soil-air flux of a group of persistent organic
pollutants called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).

Measure the toxicity of ambient aerosols using cultured cells and study the relationship
between toxicity and aerosol sizes.
