Tanna Aljoe Tanna joins Triangle for her first season, hailing from Grapevine, Texas. She is currently a sophomore setter at NC State, transferring to the Wolfpack after playing one season with San Diego State. In high school, Tanna played for Texas Advantage Volleyball Club, leading her 15s team to an Open Level National Championship and was named an Under Armour All American Honorable Mention her senior year. staff member since 2013 Julie Allen Julie Allen returns to Triangle for her eighth year of coaching North Carolina club volleyball. She has served as both a head and assistant coach for 15 White as well as assistant for 14 Silver in the past. Allen played club for five years at Onondaga in Syracuse and played varsity high school for three years. Allen attended the University of Rochester in New York where she played four years of varsity collegiate volleyball while earning a B.A. in Psychology. Allen moved to North Carolina in 2006 and currently works in Cary for Carolina Advanced Digital. staff member since 2009 Scott Allen Scott joins Triangle for his first season with the club in 2013. An NC State grad, he hails originally from Charlotte and currently works in the UNC Healthcare IT department. Scott was a member of the varsity fencing team while at NC State and also enjoys running and ultimate frisbee. Scott and his wife Julie live in Morrisville. staff member since 2013 Brian Bacchi Brian begins his first season coaching with Triangle after recently moving to the area to pursue an M.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences at UNC-Chapel Hill. His playing experience includes two years of high school volleyball followed by four years of volleyball at Vassar College, graduating in 2009 after leading his team to the finals of the Molten Championships. Along with playing both indoor and beach volleyball Brian also enjoys cycling, hiking and swimming. staff member since 2013 Enid Badillo Enid joined Triangle in 2012 with a wealth of volleyball coaching experience at the high school, club and collegiate level. Enid hails from Puerto Rico where she first developed her interest in volleyball playing on both her middle and high school teams. Since she moved to the United States, Enid has served as an assistant coach at Chemeketa Community College in Oregon, head coach at Raleigh Charter High School, assistant coach at Peace College, and worked as a club coach in this area since 1992. Currently Enid is an assistant coach for the Broughton High School varsity team. During the 2013 season Enid served as the assistant for Triangle 14 Black. Enid lives in Clayton with her daughter and started her own business as an independent consultant for Rodan and Fields. staff member since 2012 Faith Bauserman Faith returns to Triangle for her second season. Originally from East Tennessee, Faith played volleyball since grade seven. In addition to high school volleyball, Faith played six years of club at NETVC and intramurals at East Tennessee State. staff member since 2012 Faith has coached volleyball camps at both the YMCA and her high school and has been actively involved in her community throughout her life. She has served as a lifeguard, youth leader and mentor, tutor, hospital volunteer, camp counselor and more. Faith earned a B.S. degree in 2011 majoring in Human Services and Early Childhood Education. During the 2013 season Faith served as the assistant coach for 12 Blue and coaches YVP throughout the year. Faith currently works as a nanny in Chapel Hill. Logan Barber Assistant Director staff member since 2006 Barber begins his eighth season with Triangle after seven successful years in the 13’s, 14's, 15's, 16’s and 18s age groups. Highlights of his previous seven seasons include multiple trips to the Junior Nationals, a Carolina Region Championship, five Gold finishes at national qualifiers, and two second place finishes at MAPL events. In addition to team coaching, Barber leads many camps and clinics at Triangle and at various colleges and universities. Barber also returns for his fourth season as the head coach for Cardinal Gibbons HS, defending 2010, 2011 and 2012 3A State Champions. In 2012 Barber received Triangle’s Excellence in Coaching award, only the second such recipient of this prestigious award. Barber’s contributions have been instrumental to the success of some large projects at Triangle, including MAPL Raleigh and Score the Floor. Originally from Greensboro, Barber has lived in the Raleigh since he attended NCSU where he graduated in 2003 with a degree in creative writing. An avid player for more than 20 years, Barber competes in many indoor and outdoor tournaments in the area and played for the NCSU men's club team as an undergraduate. Logan Striebel Barber ‘04 Assistant Director staff member since 2009 Logan Striebel Barber begins her fifth season with Triangle as an Assistant Director and coach, spending three years as head coach for 17 Blue before moving to head coach of 15 Black in 2013. Logan is a magna cum laude graduate of American University in D.C. where she studied public communication and marketing. She played four years for American, where she won four consecutive Patriot League Championships, had four NCAA Tournament appearances, was named to the All-Patriot League Academic Honor Roll (2004-2008), and was team captain her senior year. While in D.C., Logan coached 14s, 16s, and 17s for Metro American Volleyball Club. Upon graduation Logan served as the Marketing and Sponsorship Coordinator for the Washington Kastles (Washington, D.C.), a World Team Tennis Pro League franchise. At Cardinal Gibbons High School, Logan helped lead Gibbons to three consecutive state championships (2001-2003) and was named all-conference and all-state in 2003. Logan is the first Triangle alumnae to serve in a full-time role at Triangle. In addition to her administrative responsibilities in the areas of event planning, marketing, and development, Logan serves as a team head coach and is a Director for Triangle’s VolleyTots program. Andi Bentley ’04 Bentley returns to Triangle for her eighth season after leaving during the 2013 season to work as an assistant with Dartmouth College. She has previously coached teams for Triangle in the 12s, 14s, 16s and 17s age groups. Bentley served as the coach of 12 Black in 2007 and won the first-ever regional championship awarded in that age division. staff member since 2009 At NCSU Bentley was one of the top defensive players in the ACC. She compiled a long list of accomplishments in her career such as, All-ACC Academic Team in 2004 and 2005, repeated NC State Dean’s List honors, and NC State/Caterpillar Scholar-Athlete recognition. Bentley set the bar for the Wolfpack in several statistical categories and remains ninth all-time in digs. During her high school career at Cardinal Gibbons she led her team to three consecutive state championships, setting school records in single-match digs, single-season digs, career digs, and career aces. The two time all conference player and team captain also received TISAC Player of the Year honors in 2003. Bentley and Triangle 18 Kaepa were undefeated in NC and the first NC team to finish top ten at a National Championship event. Meredith Blum In her fifth year with Triangle, Meredith Blum has coached as an assistant for 13 White, 13 Black and most recently head coach for 14 Silver. In 2010 she served as Head Coach at The Montessori School of Raleigh. Blum is a licensed massage therapist who completed her degree in Exercise and Sports Science (Health and Wellness concentration) at Meredith College in December 2010. Blum played high school volleyball at Green Hope (2000-2004), and club at CCVC (2000-2003). She was also a member of the NCSU Rowing Team for 3 years (top 10 ranking at collegiate nationals all three years). staff member since 2009 Katie Brown Katie Brown hails from Winston-Salem where she was a four-year standout scholar athlete at Mount Tabor High School. She was a two time All Conference honoree, team captain and MVP her senior year. She played club at both, Triad and Player’s Edge volleyball clubs. Currently she serves as an assistant for East Chapel Hill High School junior varsity and varsity teams. Katie graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2013 with a double major in Spanish and Photojournalism. She has done international non-profit and photography work in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Kenya and works with DurhamCares. She lives in Chapel Hill and works for 501 Realty in Durham as their Creative Director. staff member since 2013 Jody Brown staff member since 2013 Jody brings over 30 years of collegiate and international coaching and playing experience to Triangle as he begins his first season. He comes most recently from Florida, where he was the head indoor and sand Volleyball coach for Florida Atlantic University. During his 18 seasons at FAU Jody lead the team to three NCAA tournament appearances, three conference championships and produced two All-Americans and well over 140 academic all conference student athletes. He was also named A-Sun Coach of the year twice during his tenure. Also at FAU, Jody Implemented a national qualifying division 1 sand volleyball program. The program captured one of the first collegiate championship tournaments in Siesta Key, Florida and placed its top team in the very first AVCA collegiate national sand championships in Mobile, Alabama and garnered a top 10 finish. Jody is also the owner and president of the Institute of Volleyball Performance now based out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Before his time at FAU Jody served as an assistant for three years at West Virginia University and six years at Graceland University (his alma mater) where he worked with both the Men’s and Women’s programs and was also one of the youth development directors in Australia. Jody’s playing experience includes 18 years of indoor and sand volleyball in both the collegiate and international levels. Jody and his wife Dr. Michelle Brown live in Chapel Hill with their son Kaja (8). Robin Bugg staff member since 2007 Robin Bugg brings a tremendous amount of playing and coaching experience to Triangle. She has over twenty years of coaching experience at the middle school, high school, club, and collegiate levels. She has served as head coach for high school programs in Texas, Utah, and West Virginia, and has 16 years of experience coaching club. The 2014 season marks her seventh year on staff at Triangle, serving three years as the head coach for 18 Black, and most recently as the head coach for 17 Black. Her 2010 18 Black team became the first team from NC to “doubly-qualify” for the prestigious 18 Open division at Junior Nationals; she led them to victory at the Lone Star Classic and a T-15 finish at open nationals. In 2011 she led 18 Black to a third place finish at the Big South National Qualifier, qualifying for the second consecutive year. In 2011 18 Black finished 13th place in the Open division at USAV Nationals – the highest finish of any Open team in North Carolina history. In 2012 Bugg lead 17 Black to win an Open Bid at the Lone Star National Qualifier by placing 3rd in the tournament. This was the first ever Open Bid at the 17s age group in Triangle’s history. From 1992-2000, Robin served as co-director and head coach for the North Dallas Juniors Volleyball Association. During her time with North Dallas, she helped over 80 student-athletes earn athletic scholarships and won several North Texas Region and Tour of Texas Championships. Robin has made 13 trips to the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships as a coach. As a middle blocker and three-time team captain with the University of Tennessee (1980-1983), Robin led her team to two SEC championships and three 9th place national finishes in the NCAA tournament. The three time All-SEC selection still holds several records at her alma mater, including career aces, career blocks, and most blocks in a match. Robin was inducted into the Lady Vol Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. Chad Christensen Chad begins his third season with Triangle, having moved to the Raleigh area from Chicago, IL. He was the assistant coach for Triangle’s 15 Blue Team during the 2012 season and a resource coach for Group 2 during the 2013 season. Chad is an avid volleyball player and played for the All Marine and All Armed Forces Teams from 2008-2013. He has been an assistant coach at Club Fusion (Chicago) and coached varsity high school in Illinois. Chad has a BA in communications from Northeastern Illinois University and serves as a reservist for the Marine Corps. staff member since 2011 Caroline Cobb ‘09 Cobb, a Triangle alumna, is a recent graduate from Meredith College where she played middle blocker for four years. She attended Sanderson High School and played with Triangle for three years. Cobb served as a student-athlete assistant coach in the 12s program in 2009 where she became IMPACT certified and highly trained in the delivery of our 12s curriculum. From 2009-2012 Cobb served as the head coach for Triangle’s 12 Blue team, most recently head coached 12 Black during the 2013 season. staff member since 2009 Jennifer Cullip Jennifer Cullip is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and works as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at UNC Hospitals. Cullip played volleyball at Apex High School and has nearly a decade of club volleyball experience. She also has middle school coaching experience, and worked for SpikeForce Volleyball Club. She begins her fourth season with Triangle, serving as the assistant coach for 13 Blue for the past two years. staff member since 2010 Courtney Davidson Davidson was a four sport athlete in high school. He participated in cross country, basketball, track, and volleyball. He was named to the Junior All-State Volleyball Team during his junior year. Davidson received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana where he also remained active in athletics. He was previously an assistant coach for 15 White in 2009 and 13 Silver in 2012. During the 2013 season Davidson was a resource coach for Group 1. He is also currently the assistant varsity coach for Durham Riverside. staff member since 2009 Jason Curtis Triangle Co-Founder Curtis, currently Principal at Cardinal Gibbons High School, is originally from San Diego, CA. Curtis attended Santa Clara University where he earned a BA is History and played volleyball. While teaching and coaching at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose (CA), Curtis’ teams won two girls’ CIF-CCS championships. Curtis served as an assistant coach at Stanford University and helped lead the Cardinals to the 1996 NCAA National Championship. Curtis’ leadership and commitment to the game led him to found and help direct two of the nation’s most medal-laden Junior Olympic clubs, Vision Volleyball Club and Club Yahoo! Curtis co-founded Triangle in 2002 and served as its Executive Director from 2002-2004. In 2006, Curtis led 18 Black to unprecedented success when Triangle became the first club from North Carolina to win a national qualifier [Big South] in the prestigious Open division, and the first team ever to earn an Open berth to the Junior Nationals. During the 2011 and 2012 seasons Curtis served as a mentor in Triangle’s 12s program. During the 2012 season he assisted Triangle’s 12 Black team at Big South and the 12 National team at AAU Championships. In 2013 he served as the head coach for Triangle 13 Black. Curtis also serves as a lead clinician for Triangle throughout the season. Co-founded Triangle in 2002 Co-founded Triangle in 2002 Malcolm Deans Deans joins Triangle for his first season in 2013 with significant coaching experience in North Carolina. Currently a Spanish teacher, JV/Varsity coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Wake Christian Academy Deans has 18 years of high school coaching experience. He previously coached at Wilson Christian Academy, leading the volleyball team to nine NCCSA state championships. Deans was also named Wilson County Coach of the Decade in 2010. Deans and his wife Pamela live in Wilson with their daughter. staff member since 2013 Michelle Fadool ‘10 Michelle attends UNC-Chapel Hill where she is pursuing a double major in Exercise and Sports Science and Psychology. Fadool's four years of coaching experience is comprised of both student-athlete apprentice work and assistant coaching at Triangle. During the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Fadool served as the assistant for 13 Black. Additionally, Fadool has worked the previous two summers leading UNC High School Team Camps under the direction of Head Coach Joe Sagula. staff member since 2011 Fadool was a redshirt freshman at Wingate University prior to transferring to UNC-CH. Fadool played five years for Triangle as a middle blocker/opposite hitter and helped Cardinal Gibbons earn two state championships in 2007 and 2009 on the right side. She was a co-captain her senior year at Gibbons, and earned an All-Conference Award her junior and senior year. During her junior year Fadool was corecipient of Triangle’s esteemed Board Award. Sherry Fadool Executive Director staff member since 2006 Fadool became Executive Director in July, 2011 after serving as Associate Director. Fadool began working with Triangle in 2006 to provide marketing and operations support for Triangle’s newly commissioned facility. Fadool’s focus on compliance, governance, and operational excellence provided the stability and structure needed to manage Triangle’s unprecedented growth during this time. She was hired as Triangle’s Director of Business Operations in 2007 and promoted to Associate Director in 2009. Her innovative approach to organizational development and business operations have helped distinguish Triangle as a market leader in youth sports. Her leadership is central to Triangle’s missionfocused approach and its strong commitment to grow the sport of volleyball. Fadool has been instrumental in the development and implementation of Triangle’s extensive yearround programming – an essential contribution to Triangle’s overall performance. Her strength in strategic marketing management has played a key role in Triangle’s emergence as one of the premier clubs in the nation. Also an adept project manager, Fadool planned and executed a 12-court convention center tournament in 2009, the first-ever such event in Raleigh, in an eight week time frame. Since then, MAPL Raleigh’s ongoing success has firmly established Triangle’s reputation among city leaders and the local business community as a respected contributor to downtown economic growth. Fadool’s commitment to Triangle’s mission—educating the whole person through excellence in the sport of volleyball—also extends to Triangle’s staff. She has implemented several initiatives that help mentor and develop Triangle’s coaching staff. Fadool holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Central Michigan and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University. She has over 20 years of leadership experience in community organizations and the not-for-profit industry. In addition to serving on several boards and councils, Sherry has also served as Development Director at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and School. Sherry and her husband, John, live in Raleigh. They have two children, Jeff and Michelle. Christina Falcone ‘06 Falcone, a Duke graduate and four-year member of the Blue Devils volleyball team (co-captain her senior year), has been working Triangle camps and serving as a lead instructor in the Triangle Setting Academy for six years. In 2010 and 2011 she was head coach of 13 White. In 2012 Falcone assisted on 17 Black and most recently on 18 Black. As a player at Triangle, Falcone was named a finalist for the 2005 Andi Collins Award (awarded to the nation stop senior setter), led 18 Black to victory in the 18 Open division at the 2006 Big South Qualifier, was named an AAU All-American in 2005 and her 17 Black team placed third at the AAU National Championships. In high school, Falcone holds career assists (2,310) and aces (214) records at Cardinal Gibbons where she also earned three state championships and championship MVP honors in 2005. She is currently the Director of Volleyball Operations for Duke. staff member since 2010 Michael Frank Michael joined Triangle in 2013 after his family relocated to Raleigh from Massachusetts. Michael has played and coached volleyball since high school where he was a three-year varsity member and allconference selection. Michael played volleyball at Northeastern University where he graduated in 2002 with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering. staff member since 2012 Michael’s extensive coaching experience includes ten years coaching high school boys and girls, as well as junior boys’ and girls’ club. Most recently Michael coached junior girls’ at SMASH Volleyball Club in Newton, MA where he achieved multiple team qualifications to USA Volleyball Junior Girls’ National Championships. He has also coached with Beantown Volleyball Club, Bay State and Brookline High School. Michael served as a resource coach for Group 1 and 2 at Triangle during the 2013 season and head coached Triangle 14 Steel at AAUs. Michael is a senior design engineer at AVCON. He lives with his wife and two children in Cary. Katie Fleming Katie Fleming, a native of North Carolina and graduate of Miami University (Ohio) returns for a ninth season at Triangle. Fleming attended Cardinal Gibbons High School and led her team to two state championship wins. She was named all-conference, all-state and set two records in her senior season for single season kills and digs. Fleming was a TISAC co-player of the year in 2001 and her #9 jersey hangs retired at Gibbons. She went on to Providence College for two seasons where she was an outside hitter and still holds the single season digs record. Before graduating cum laude in 2007 from Miami University she finished her college career with two seasons in the libero spot. staff member since 2004 Fleming holds a degree in Philosophy and English from Miami and graduated in May 2012 with magna cum laude honors from Duke Divinity School and a Master of Arts in Christian Studies. She has previously coached several Triangle teams in the 12's, 14's, 16's, 18's and 17's age groups, most recently as the head coach of 17 Blue. Fleming was the Duke Women’s Volleyball Volunteer Assistant Coach during the 2012 season after her Duke graduate school program. She currently works for St. David's School in Raleigh as the Director of Camps and Programming where she is also the head varsity volleyball coach. Jim Freeman staff member since 2004 Freeman served as head volleyball coach and Assistant Director of Athletics at Cardinal Gibbons High School from 1991-2010. During his 19 years at the helm of the Crusaders Freeman led Cardinal Gibbons to ten North Carolina State Championships and twelve conference titles. His career record at Cardinal Gibbons stands at 426-117 (.785), a mark that also includes twelve consecutive appearances in the North Carolina State Championship match. Throughout his career Freeman has coached over 30 Division I athletes, including several National Champions. Freeman has coached teams in the 13s, 14s, 17s and 18s age groups at Triangle. A 1985 magna cum laude graduate of Liberty University, Freeman holds a degree in Physical Education. After volunteer assisting with Duke University in 2010, Freeman was named Head Coach of Barton College’s Men’s and Women’s Volleyball teams and served from 2011-2012. He is in his second season coaching at St. Mary’s School, leading the Saints to their first appearance in the NCISAA tournament in school history. He is returning for his ninth season coaching with Triangle. Brent Franklin Brent returns to Triangle for his 5th season after having coached 17 Blue, 15 White and 16 White. Brent brings a high level of club coaching experience to Triangle having coached with Club Red (Arizona) Volleyball Club from 1994-1999 and Impact Volleyball Club (Tennessee) from 2002- 2006. He currently resides with his family in Rolesville and works for The Body Shop in Wake Forest. staff member since 2008 Kaylie Gibson ‘07 Kaylie Gibson, Triangle class of 2007, begins her second season coaching with Triangle after four remarkable years as a libero for UNC-Chapel Hill. During her time with the Tar Heels Gibson was named AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, All-ACC pick and AVCA All East Region. She currently ranks second in dig average in school history and helped lead a UNC defense to a top ten national digs per set ranking. staff member since 2012 In high school Gibson was named Tri-8 Conference Player of the Year as a junior at Apex High School and was a four-year starter. She was also named a “Defensive Dandy” by PrepVolleyball.com. Gibson graduated from UNC in 2012 earning a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science. During the 2013 season Gibson was the assistant coach for Triangle 17 Black. Jackie Goldbach Jackie hails from Westminster, Maryland where she attended McDaniel College, earning a BS in Exercise Science. She played two seasons at McDaniel and four years at Centennial High School winning three state championships and was named All-County Setter her junior and senior year. Jackie has previously coached for Columbia Volleyball Club in the 13s and 16s age groups, as a volunteer assistant at Centennial High School and various camps and clinics throughout her career. Jackie is in the process of earning her teaching certification in early childhood education. She currently lives in Wake Forest with her husband and son, Jaxon (18 months). staff member since 2013 Barry Gower Barry joins Triangle in 2013 after recently moving to the area from Poughkeepsie, NY. Barry served as head volleyball coach for Haviland Middle School [NY] for 3 years and has played recreational volleyball for over 13 years. At Apex Volleyball Club in Poughkeepsie, Barry served as a resource coach for one year. Growing up in Michigan, Barry graduated from Michigan Technological University in 2000 with a BS in Computer Science. Barry works for IBM in RTP and resides in Holly Springs with his wife Nikki and two children Riley and Liam. staff member since 2013 Phil Hanson Phil hails from Columbus, Ohio and has been around volleyball his entire life. Phil began competitive volleyball in seventh grade and played both high school and club volleyball. Phil continued his playing experience on the men’s club team at Marquette University where he graduated in 2011 with a B.S. degree in Exercise Science. Phil is currently attending graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill where he plays on the men’s club team. Phil is working as a research assistant while pursuing a degree in the School of Public Health. He has a wealth of volleyball experience and a deep desire to serve his community. He has actively served his collegiate and local communities, and has volunteered for eight years as a camp counselor at the Muscular Dystrophy Association's summer camp at home in Ohio. staff member since 2012 Brian Harris Brian joined Triangle in 2013 and has an extensive sports background. He played tennis while at The Citadel and began their club volleyball team during his senior year. After college he played in numerous adult volleyball leagues. staff member since 2013 Brian began his teaching career in Florida and in 2005 moved to Raleigh with his wife and two daughters. Since moving to North Carolina, he has coached girl’s volleyball for his middle school. In addition to coaching volleyball, he has also coached middle school softball. Both of Brian’s daughters play club volleyball. One of them is in high school and the other is in middle school and they play for their respective school teams. Brian loves the challenge that volleyball provides and as an educator, loves the teaching and learning coaching requires. April Hausler April is currently a sophomore at Meredith College and a scholar athlete for the Avenging Angels. Before her time at Meredith she played for East Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club [ECJVC] in Greenville, NC and DH Conley High School. During her high school career April led her team to four conference championships and was named to the all-conference team and was the leading blocker her senior year. Her coaching experience includes one year of club coaching with ECJVC 13s her senior year in high school, assisting in multiple skills clinics at ECJVC, volunteering with the Pitt Community Recreation league and working as a Volley U coach with NC Elite last season. April is majoring in computer science and business administration at Meredith and is part of the Honors College program. staff member since 2013 Emily Hendricks ‘12 Emily Hendricks is a sophomore outside hitter at Meredith College. She played both her 17s and 18s seasons of club volleyball at Triangle Volleyball Club along with four previous years at CCVC. Emily was the head coach of 11 Blue during the 2012/2013 club season and instrumental in the development of Triangle’s new 11’s program. Emily also served as assistant coach to the 12 national team at AAUs in the 2013 post season. She has worked numerous sessions of Triangle’s YVP program. staff member since 2012 Drew Hermanson Drew, originally from Ventura, California, played four years of high school volleyball. Upon graduation in 2009 he came to North Carolina and attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he is majoring in History with a minor in Geography. Drew continues to pursue his volleyball passion by playing for UNC’s men's club volleyball team, and recently helped guide them to a fifth place finish at the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation annual tournament. As an avid beach volleyball player Drew first got involved in coaching by working summer beach volleyball camps for the city of Ventura’s Recreation Department from 2009-2011. During the 2013 season Drew was the assistant coach for 14 Blue and currently serves as the JV coach and Varsity Assistant for Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh. staff member since 2012 Kari Heying Kari hails from Minnesota where she played both club and high school volleyball. In high school she was a three time all conference honoree. After high school Kari coached club at the 14’s level and remained active in volleyball in adult recreational and collegiate intramural leagues. Kari attended college at University of Minnesota‐Duluth where she earned a BA in Marketing. She is currently working at PNC Bank as a Customer Service Associate. She is entering her second season at Triangle where she previously served as the assistant coach for 12 Black. staff member since 2012 Gabbie Hissong Gabbie is a freshman at Meredith College in Raleigh, hailing from Greencastle, PA. She played four years of high school volleyball at Greencastle High School and seven years at Revolution Volleyball Club. Gabbie is currently studying child development at Meredith and has experience coaching the Greencastle middle school team in PA and with Triangle’s YVP programs. staff member since 2013 Stefanie Holler ‘08 Stefanie played for Triangle as a middle blocker beginning in 2006 while attending Wake ForestRolesville High School. She went on to play four years at Belmont Abbey College where she earned a B.A. degree in Psychology. Stefanie’s coaching experience began at Triangle where she worked YVP, summer camps and served as a student-athlete apprentice coach for 15 White. Stefanie served as a head coach at Gaston Elite Volleyball Club and regularly volunteers at Wake Forest High School. During the 2013 season she was the assistant coach for 15 Blue. staff member since 2012 Stefanie is currently employed at the Goddard School in Wake Forest as a lead preschool teacher. Jenna Hinton Assistant Director Jenna Hinton brings 17 years of teaching and coaching experience to Triangle at the middle and high school, club, and collegiate levels. Prior to joining Triangle full-time, Jenna served as the head volleyball coach at Louisburg College where she also provided marketing and sports information support to the athletic department. staff member since 2004 Jenna created, developed, and directs Triangle’s extremely successful Youth Volleyball Program (YVP). Her teams have earned regional championships in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2011. They have qualified for USA Junior Olympic Nationals in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 (top 10 finish) and 2011. In 2008, 15 Black became the only 15s team in the history of the Carolina Region to qualify for Open at USA Jr. Nationals. In 2013, Jenna received the USA Volleyball Junior Club Director Award, in recognition for her contributions to the growth and development of sitting volleyball in our region. In addition to this honor, that same year, she was a presenting speaker at the USA Paralympic Conference held annually at the USA Olympic training center in Colorado Springs, CO. In 2013 Jenna also collaborated with a local Paralympic sport club [Bridge II Sports] and the Duke University School of Engineering on a project that led to the design, development and production of a sitting volleyball chair that enables people with physical disabilities to play the sport of sitting volleyball. Jenna is a 2008 recipient of the Robert L. Lindsey Meritorious Service Award for her outstanding contributions to North Carolina volleyball, and the inaugural recipient of the Sam Casey Caram Coach of the Year Award for Triangle. She is a certified CAP II level USAV coach and serves the region as an USAV IMPACT instructor. Jenna also serves as the sitting volleyball coordinator for Triangle. During her collegiate playing career, Jenna was a three-time CVAC all-conference performer at Barton College. In addition to her duties at Triangle, Jenna currently serves as head coach at Wake Forest High School (her alma mater). Tonya Holmes Tonya hails from Florida where she played high school volleyball and one year at Savannah State University before transferring to the University of Central Florida. At UCF Holmes played club volleyball and coached at Orlando Volleyball Association [OVA]. Holmes has a BA in history and is currently the assistant coach at St. Mary’s School. She is in her third season coaching with Triangle and previously served as the assistant for 17 and 18 Blue. staff member since 2011 CJ Hunter CJ Hunter joins Triangle in 2013 as he continues to live out his lifelong passion for volleyball. CJ graduated from Duke University in May with a B.A. in political science. While at Duke, he worked as a student manager for the Women's Volleyball team, and played for the Men's Club team. During his undergrad, he coached at Surry Storm Volleyball Club, in his hometown of Mount Airy, NC. He served as both a head and assistant coach for ages 12-18, and helped the club expand to offer more teams each year. CJ now attends UNC-Chapel Hill, where he is working towards his master's degree in Sport and Exercise Science. staff member since 2013 Corey Johnson Johnson attended North Carolina A&T State University where he studied computer science and played varsity football. Johnson has 15 years of experience in personal training, nine of which are as an owner and operator of two Phase II Personal Training studios in Cary and Durham. Johnson holds certifications in both personal training and pilates. He is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise/Sports Science with a concentration in Athletic Training, and has also worked in club volleyball previously as a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Johnson currently serves as Triangle’s Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. staff member since 2010 Greg Kabbes A native of the Raleigh area, Greg Kabbes has served at Triangle as an assistant coach for 14 Silver, 15 Black and 14 Black. Most recently, Greg coached the 14-2 team at Austin Juniors Volleyball Club in Austin, TX. With a degree in business management, he graduated from Georgia Tech in 2009 where he also played club volleyball. While in college, Kabbes also served as a head coach for the Loved School in Atlanta, GA. As a high school athlete, Kabbes was involved in many sports and participated in the first men's club team at Cardinal Gibbons HS. Returned from Texas, Kabbes is currently a student at NC State pursuing a degree in Biochemistry and entry into medical school. staff member since 2010 Marina Karelov With over 30 years of volleyball experience, Karelov comes to Triangle from the former U.S.S.R Republic of Belarus. Karelov began playing volleyball at 9 years old, and has been captain and MVP on several championship teams throughout grade school, the Belarussian State University Team, and the Belarussian National Team. Karelov’s coaching experience encompasses coaching club developmental teams, running and coaching her own independent team, assisting the Leesville High school summer camps and the Leesville Middle School volleyball team, and endlessly working with her own two daughters on their volleyball skills. Currently she works for Fidelity Investments. Marina loves volleyball and continues to play grass doubles. She has head coached 14 White for the past four years and will be serving as a resource coach in 2014. staff member since 2009 Alston Kearns ‘11 Alston Kearns is a junior libero/defensive specialist at NC State University. Kearns played libero for five years at Triangle including two years on Triangle 18 Black [2010 and 2011]. Kearns helped 18 Black earn two consecutive Open bids to USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships including a ‘double’ qualification in 2010 when the team finished 2nd at Mideast Qualifier and won the gold championship at the Lone Star Classic. Alston served as a student-athlete apprentice coach during her time at Triangle and is now entering her third season as a member of Triangle’s coaching staff. She most recently served as the second assistant for 14 Black. staff member since 2012 Jesse Keroack Jesse Keroack is a Gainesville, FL native who is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in school psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill. Jesse played at Eastside High School and club at Gainesville Juniors. Keroack played right side/setter at the University of West Florida where she earned Gulf South Conference All-Academic Team honors in 2007 and 2008, and was named Student-athlete of the Year in 2008. She has coached club at Volleyball Pensacola Juniors and has worked at Triangle as a setter coach, summer camp lead, and both a head and assistant coach for Triangle 14 Blue. staff member since 2010 Brendan Koslowsky Brendan joined Triangle in the Spring of the 2013 season where he served as a resource coach for Group 1. He recently graduated from NC State with a B.S. in Construction Engineering and Management and played for two years on the NCSU Men’s Club team where he was named 2nd team All Tournament at the NCVF National Tournament in 2013. Brendan has been playing volleyball since seventh grade, playing for Winman Volleyball Club in Canada and winning a National Championship his 14s year. Brendan and his family moved to Raleigh from Canada in 2007. staff member since 2013 Beverly Lineberger Lineberger, a North Carolina volleyball mainstay, achieved tremendous success while coaching at Apex High School (11 years) and Peace College (2 years). While leading the Apex program she was awarded Tri-Seven Coach of the Year in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2006, and led her team to the 4A state semi-finals in 2001 and 2005. During her two years at Peace, she led the program to its best season since joining the NCAA in 2002. Lineberger ran with great success the Cary Parks and Recreation volleyball skills sessions, summer camps, and league program from 1996-2012. She graduated in 1995 from NCSU and received her bachelor degree in science education and biological science. She and her husband, Brent, run their own tree care and crane service. They reside in Raleigh with their two children, Brayden and Bella Grace. Lineberger has served as the 13 Blue Head Coach for the past four years. staff member since 2009 Karlie Long Karlie is currently a freshman at Meredith College, starting her first season as an outside hitter with the Avenging Angels. Karlie played for Triangle through her 17s season and returns to begin her coaching career. At Person High School Karlie was named All-Conference 2011-2013 and was selected as team captain for three seasons. staff member since 2013 Davene Mainwaring Davene enters her second season at Triangle with a wealth of volleyball coaching experience. She first coached club when the juniors level was initially introduced in the Carolina Region. Her club coaching experience includes Durham Juniors, Cary YMCA Boys, SpikeForce, CCVC, TCA, NC Elite, TCA, and Triangle. She has been the head volleyball coach at North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics for the past 11 seasons. In 2011 Davene led her team to become the 1A East Regional champions and 1A State Runner-ups. She lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and 3 college aged children. She served as the assistant coach for 15 White last year and helped lead the team to an impressive season match record of 43-3 and game record of 87-8. staff member since 2012 Julia Mainwaring Julia currently attends Elon University and is studying sport and event management. In the fall of 2012 Julia was a defensive specialist for William Peace University, helping to lead the team in its most successful season. While in high school, she was a four year varsity member, three year starter and two year captain at East Chapel Hill. She played seven years of club volleyball and helped to create and run a youth developmental program at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA for both boys and girls. Julia is now entering her second season of coaching at Triangle, most recently working with YVP and assisting 15 White. staff member since 2012 Colby Mangum Colby is in her second season as the head coach at Louisburg College in North Carolina. She has previously coached for five years at WAVE Volleyball Club in Goldsboro, NC and three seasons at Southern Wayne High School (Mount Olive, NC) where she led the team to three state tournament appearances. While at Southern Wayne Colby was named Conference Coach of the Year. Colby graduated from Mount Olive College where she played volleyball for four years and holds numerous records including season and career blocks leader and season hitting percentage leader. In 2004 she led her team to their first ever NCAA Atlantic Regional appearance. Colby has recently partnered with Triangle to expand YVP programming to the Louisburg area. staff member since 2013 Jennifer Marks Jennifer Marks graduated in 2011 with a degree in business administration and is now employed by IBM. Marks played six years of club volleyball and high school volleyball at Apex. She served as head coach of 12 White for two seasons and has coached previously at camps and also for SpikeForce Volleyball Club. Marks works at IBM as a Global Commodity Manager and is currently earning her MBA at Campbell University. She most recently served as an assistant coach for 16 White. staff member since 2009 Mike Marks Mike Marks enters his eighth season with Triangle after six years with the SpikeForce Volleyball Club where he was a co-founder, director, and coach. In 2008 and 2010, his 14 Blue team finished second only to 14 Black, qualifying for the Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships both years. He has coached juniors at the 13, 14, 15 and 16's age group. In the spring of 2007 he assisted with the creation of the Apex/Cary Youth Beach Volleyball Club. This club helped train and promote the sport of beach volleyball to juniors. Mike has over 30+ years of playing experience both indoor and outdoor. Originally from Ohio, Marks and his wife, Nancy, came to North Carolina to complete his graduate degree in electrical engineering at NCSU. They currently reside in Apex and have two daughters, Jennifer and Kristi. staff member since 2006 Danielle Martzolf Danielle joins Triangle from Lancaster, NY were she was a three sport prep athlete earning accolades on the volleyball court including Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year and three state championships. Danielle played outside hitter/opposite at Edinboro College, graduating in 2011 with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. staff member since 2012 Danielle remained active in many sports following high school serving as a modified softball coach, recreational basketball coach and working at the YMCA as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and camp counselor. Danielle has coached club volleyball at EPIC (PA) and Niagara Frontier (NY) and coached high school varsity volleyball and at collegiate camps. She is currently in her second year as a Health and PE teacher at Middle Creek HS. Along with teaching Danielle is also the Head Volleyball coach and JV softball coach at Middle Creek. During the 2012 season she served as the head coach for 12 Blue. Emery McGee Emery is a freshman defensive specialist/libero at Meredith College. Originally from Wilmington, NC, Emery played club for Wilmington Elite (formerly Brunswick Juniors) and was a standout athlete at Eugene Ashley High School. During her high school career she earned All-Conference honors as a junior and senior and was named team MVP her senior year. staff member since 2013 Lindsey O’Connell ‘10 Lindsey attends NC State University where she is studying communications. O’Connell played three years for Triangle and four years for Green Hope High School. She played one year at Clemson University on the varsity volleyball team. While playing at Triangle, O’Connell was a student-athlete apprentice coach and has coached Triangle Summer Camps for the past three years. O’Connell is currently the head coach at Panther Creek HS. She served as a resource coach for the 13s age group during the 2012 season and in 2013 was the head coach of 13 White. staff member since 2011 Nicole O’Connell Illinois native, Nikki O’Connell, was a standout student-athlete at NC State University (1998-2001) and has eleven years coaching experience at the high school and junior club levels. O’Connell, a former teacher, was the head coach at Apex High School from 2008-2012. In 2010 she led the team to its firstever NCHSAA 4A State Championship and an overall national ranking of 12. She was named Tri-9 Coach of the Year in 2008, 2009, and 2010. O’Connell is entering her seventh season at Triangle. At Triangle she led 18 Blue to qualify for USA Junior Nationals in 2008 (the first-ever ‘2’ team from the Carolina Region to qualify). O’Connell has served as assistant coach for 18 Black and helped them achieve a rare ‘double’ qualification in 2010 for open nationals finishing 2nd at MEQ and 1st at Lone Star. A repeat qualification in 2011 at Big South in 2011 is the first back-to-back open qualification for any team in CR history. In 2012 O’Connell was at the helm when 16 Black finished T9 in the Open division at AAU Junior Nationals, the highest finish for a 16s team in Triangle’s history at AAUs. O’Connell, her husband, and two children reside in Apex. staff member since 2007 staff member since 2007 Kyle Peck Kyle is currently a senior at NC State, majoring in Biology and working as the manager of the NCSU women’s volleyball program and with the University Recreation Marketing Department as a graphic designer. Joining Triangle during the spring of 2013 Kyle has served as a resource coach with Group 1 and assisted in many camps and clinics. He is co-president of the NCSU men’s club team and was named NCVF First Team All-Tournament in 2012 and 2013. Kyle is originally from Franklin, NC and has grown up in a volleyball family with two siblings having played college volleyball. staff member since 2013 Meredith Phipps Meredith is originally from Utah and joins Triangle with over a decade of volleyball experience. A middle blocker, Meredith played throughout high school and her four years at Gordon College in Massachusetts. She has coaching experience in volleyball, basketball, and soccer of all ages. Meredith graduated Gordon College in 2010 with a degree in Kinesiology and later completed the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Duke. Meredith currently works at Duke Children’s Hospital in a pediatric stepdown unit. She is continuing her education at Duke to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. staff member since 2013 Brian Poppe Brian joins Triangle having played collegiate club volleyball (University of South Florida) and in numerous beach and outdoor tournaments throughout Florida. Poppe has coached youth volleyball through Wendell Parks and Recreation and is entering his third year coaching with Triangle. He most recently resourced with Group 1 and has previously resourced with Triangle’s 12s program. Poppe is a supervisor with Methodist Home for Children, coordinating in-home counseling programs and has a BA in Psychology. Poppe is married to his wife Kisha and has two daughters; Alia (12) and Brooke (8). staff member since 2011 Katie Quigley Katie is starting her first year coaching with Triangle. She is a science teacher at Wake Forest High School and is also the head JV volleyball coach, assistant varsity volleyball coach and assistant track coach. Katie played volleyball for four years at Wake Forest high school and club with Capital City Volleyball Club (CCVC) and Vance County Volleyball. While earning a BS in Chemistry at Converse College, Katie also played on the club team. She currently plays in adult leagues in the Triangle area. staff member since 2013 Emily Regan Emily Regan graduated in 2010 from Elon University with a BA in English. Regan played all four years as a setter on the Phoenix varsity volleyball team, serving as captain both her junior and senior years. Regan originally hails from Pittsburgh and played four years on the Pine-Richland High School varsity team and at Renaissance Pittsburgh Volleyball Club. After graduating Regan was a teacher and head volleyball coach at Franklinton High School from 2010-2012. Regan has served as an assistant coach for both 15 and 16 Black and is currently a teacher at Apex High School and the head coach of their varsity volleyball program. staff member since 2011 Courtney Reiman staff member since 2013 Courtney Reiman enters her first year at Triangle Volleyball Club after coaching three years for Nebraska Elite and during the summer for North Carolina State summer camps. Courtney hails from Omaha, NE and is currently a student-athlete at NC State where she plays middle blocker and right side hitter. Courtney's volleyball career includes time as an outside hitter, middle blocker, and right side hitter for Nebraska Elite and Bennington High School. During her club career she led the team to Junior Olympics Nationals every year and was awarded MVP her 16's, 17's, and 18's year. As a high school athlete Courtney earned All-Conference honors her junior and senior year. Courtney is majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Biotechnology and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Her goal is to enroll in pharmacy school and work as a pharmacist for Johnson & Johnson. Meredith Richardson Meredith hails from Brentwood, Tennessee and is currently a senior middle blocker at NC State. In high school she led her team to a district championship her senior year and was named to the All-District team, Tennessee All-State team, and District MVP. Meredith played club for IMPACT Volleyball Club and Alliance Volleyball Club. She has coached multiple NC State summer camps and is majoring in civil engineering and minoring in voice. staff member since 2013 Sarah Schall staff member since 2011 Sarah and her husband, Mike, created Revolution Volleyball Club and were club directors from 2008‐2011. Sarah graduated from Lock Haven University, PA, in 1999 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Health & Physical Education. While at Lock Haven, she was named 4 time PSAC Volleyball Player of the Year. Sarah then went onto to become a very successful head coach at State College High School from 2002 – 2006. Her team finished third in the state championships twice. She also taught Health & Physical Education at State College High School for 3 years. Since 2011 Sarah has supported Triangle as the VolleyShop manager. During the 2013 season she was the head coach of Triangle’s first ever 11s team. She has just recently earned her certification as a sports conditioning specialist and a TRX trainer where she plans to assist Triangle in developing the overall strength of the athletes specific to the sport of volleyball. Sarah and Mike reside in Apex, North Carolina and have four children, Annabelle, Sam, Andrew, and Mia. Mike Schall Associate Director Schall begins his third year as Triangle’s Associate Director. His leadership, coaching experience, and passionate approach to teaching the game will assist in maintaining and advancing the mission of the club. During the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Schall coached Triangle 18 Black to win an Open Bid to USAV Junior Nationals. His responsibilities at Triangle include maintaining a consistent approach to teaching, creating an atmosphere conducive to success in the gym, coach development initiatives, and recruiting assistance for Triangle student-athletes. staff member since 2011 Schall attended Penn State University and graduated in 1994 with a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science. As a four-year member and two-time co-captain of the Penn State men’s volleyball team, Schall helped Penn State achieve three Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) titles and three national semifinal appearances. Schall began his coaching career as a member of Russ Rose’s staff at Penn State University serving as Assistant Coach for the nationally prominent Nittany Lions. While at Penn State, Schall was involved in every area of the program including recruiting, practice planning and implementation, scouting and match preparation, and individual player development. He coached numerous Big Ten All Conference Players, Conference Players of the Year, National Players of the Year, and USA National Team Members, including middle blocker Christa Harmotto and Nicole Fawcett. In 2007, Mike and his wife Sarah founded Revolution Volleyball Club in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Under Schall’s leadership Revolution grew from five teams to a total of 19 teams hosted at four sites in 2011. As club director Schall was responsible for technical direction, coach development, and studentathlete recruitment. Schall also served as President of the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association from 2010-2011. Mike and Sarah live in Apex with their four children: Annabelle (11), Sam (9), Andrew (5), and Mia (3). Lorelle Schaub Lorelle is a native of Minnesota and joins Triangle for the 2013 season. Lorelle has coached club locally and led her team to multiple top finishes at the local and national level. In addition to club level coaching Lorelle has also coached college camps and clinics throughout the country. As a player Lorelle competed at M1 [Minnesota], one of the top clubs in the Midwest, before attending the University of Connecticut. At UConn Lorelle played middle blocker and right side before an injury sidelined her for her last two seasons. In 2007 she represented the United States in the Sibillini International games through Bring It Promotions, bringing home a bronze medal. After spending four years in the non-profit sector, Lorelle currently serves as the Graduate Assistant to Women’s Volleyball at North Carolina Central University and resides in Durham, North Carolina. staff member since 2013 Ben Sheu Ben Sheu joins Triangle after moving to Chapel Hill to join the Academic Support Program for StudentAthletes at UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to joining UNC, Sheu was an assistant women’s volleyball coach at Florida Atlantic University for both the indoor and sand programs and Associate Director of the Institute of Volleyball Performance [IVP] . While at FAU, Sheu and head coach Jody Brown, led their team to a top ten finish in the AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball National Championships. In addition to Division 1 coaching experience at FAU, Sheu has coached club at Palm Beach Juniors and Hoosierland Volleyball Club. He has also coached at several collegiate summer camps including Indiana, Kentucky, Florida Atlantic and UNC. staff member since 2013 As a player, Sheu has experience as a setter, outside hitter, and defensive specialist. Sheu’s prep experience was at Naperville North HS [IL] where he helped the Huskies to back-to-back appearances in the state Final Four. In addition to high school and club volleyball, Sheu played men’s club volleyball at Indiana University. Ben graduated in 2009 from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Tania Stafford Tania joins Triangle in 2013 with coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. Originally from Rochester, NY, Tania played middle blocker in high school and at Monroe Community College. Tania’s passion for volleyball continued as an adult indoor and outdoor player in the New York Outdoor Volleyball Association (NOVA) and Western Empire Volleyball Association (WEVA). Her beach experience includes time as an assistant director and official for an indoor beach volleyball program. Tania moved to North Carolina in 2000 and began coaching at Western Wake Volleyball Club and became the club director in 2003. In 2008 she joined the coaching staff at Wake Tech as an assistant coach. From 2009 to 2011 Tania served as the head coach at Durham Academy and is currently the head coach at Raleigh Charter High School. During the 2012 club season Tania was the head coach for 18 Diamond at NC Volleyball Academy. Tania remains an avid indoor and outdoor player and lives in Apex with her husband and their two boys. Tania is an independent professional photographer and teaches equitation at her family owned horse farm. staff member since 2013 Alex Taylor ‘12 Alex Taylor, a graduate of Triangle’s Class of 2012, returns to Triangle in 2013. Alex was a Triangle student-athlete for five years and co-recipient of Triangle’s esteemed Board Award. During her time at Triangle Alex served as a student-athlete apprentice coach working with 12’s and 14’s age groups. In addition to indoor play, Alex qualified in 2010 for the AAU Junior Olympics Beach nationals. She and her beach partner finished fourth overall. staff member since 2013 A graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School, Alex was a member of the 2011 Cardinal Gibbons High School State Championship team. Alex attends North Carolina State University and played on the women’s volleyball team during the 2011-12 season. She is currently a sophomore at NCSU majoring in Chemical Engineering and works as the Head Coach of the Cardinal Gibbons Freshman Volleyball team. Richard Tharrington A North Carolina native, Richard Tharrington joins Triangle in 2013. Richard has served as a volunteer volleyball coach for the past 3 years through youth programs at the Cary YMCA and Cary Parks and Recreation. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Coaching Education from Ohio University and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University. Richard is a Sr. Project Manager at Lenovo and resides in Cary with his wife Jenifer and three children Lauren (14), Caden (9), and Joshua (5). staff member since 2013 Ryan Thomas staff member since 2013 Ryan joins Triangle in 2013 with many years of club volleyball experience for Pilipa’a Volleyball Club. He was born and raised in Hawaii and currently plays Division 1 Men’s Volleyball for Mount Olive College where he is majoring in Business Management. During high school, Ryan was a four-year varsity member for Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Campus. He was an all-conference selection twice and a Honolulu Star-Advertiser Fab 15 honorable mention. Ryan helped his team earn two league championships and a state runner-up in 2012. His high school team was also nationally ranked by ESPN Rise during his senior season. Ryan spent this past summer coaching at team camps in Oregon and Washington. He also helped coach Southside Volleyball Club boy’s 14’s team who won the 2013 USAV junior National Tournament in the 14’s club division. Ryan is a sophomore at Mount Olive College and is looking to help his team win another conference title and reach the NCAA Division 1 final four. Victoria Vucich Victoria, currently a senior at Green Hope High School, joins Triangle’s coaching staff for the 2014 season. She played for Triangle for two years (14s and 15s) and has worked with Triangle’s YVP program throughout the school year. Victoria’s coaching experience also includes working the Town of Cary volleyball camps and clinics. staff member since 2013 Natalie Walters staff member since 2013 Natalie joins Triangle for the 2014 season. Inspired by her two older sisters, Natalie began playing volleyball when she was 13 years old. She has since continued her volleyball career as a player and a coach. Natalie played high school volleyball in Charlotte for Providence High School and 6 years of club. During her HS career she was a 3-year varsity player, playing for a State title each year and holds two State Championship victories. Natalie attended Elon University for one year where she played club volleyball. She transferred to NC State University for her sophomore year where she later graduated with a BS in Mathematics Education. During her time at NC State, Natalie was a USAV referee. Natalie is currently a math teacher at Wakefield High School, and began her high school coaching career at Wakefield two years ago. Natalie and her husband Nick have been married for one year and enjoy attending NC State athletic events and spending time with their two dogs, Finley and Reynolds. Mary Wands Mary Wands brings over ten years of coaching experience and considerable playing/game experience to Triangle. Mary has coached at the middle school, high school, club, and collegiate levels and has multiple certifications including USAV CAP I and II, Beach, and Gold Medal Squared Level 1. She played collegiate volleyball at Genesee Community College and has been an active member of USA Volleyball since 1988. Mary most recently served as the head varsity coach for Raleigh Charter High School from 2009-2012. In 2012 Mary led her team to become the 1A Eastern Regional Champions and Runner Up in the 1A State Championship. Mary has served as the head coach of 15 White for the last two seasons, last year leading the team to an impressive season match record of 43-3 and game record of 87-8. She recently retired after working 23 years for US Airways and currently lives with her husband in Apex. staff member since 2011 Liz Willis ‘08 staff member since 2012 Liz, a 2008 Triangle Volleyball alumna, was the inaugural recipient of Triangle’s esteemed Board Award her junior year. Liz graduated in 2012 from Wingate University where she played varsity volleyball for four years. As a setter, Willis helped the Bulldogs win four conference, and conference tournament titles. In 2008, Liz was named Freshman of the Year for the conference, region, and university. In 2010, Wingate volleyball advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. During her senior year Liz earned multiple honors including AVCA All American, Academic All American, and the South Atlantic Conference [SAC] President’s Award. Liz’s return to Triangle will resume a coaching career that began when she was a student-athlete apprentice coach to 14 Black (2007) and 14 White (2008). Liz graduated with a degree in Biology from Wingate and is currently a medical student at Campbell University. During the 2012 season Liz was the head coach for Triangle 15 Blue, leading her team to the highest Blue team finish at the Lonestar National Qualifier. Alesha Wilson Alesha is currently a junior middle blocker at NC State from Keller, Texas. In October of 2012 she was named ACC Player of the Week and is ranked second on the team in total blocks with 95 during the 2012 season. In high school Alesha was a two-time all-district honoree and played club for Dallas Premier, TAV and Texas Image. Her coaching experience includes camps and clinics with NC State, TAV and Keller Central High School along with coaching with the NC Elite Locals program. staff member since 2013 Caitlin Withers Caitlin enters her second season with Triangle after serving as an assistant coach for 15 black. Born and raised in San Marino, CA Caitlin excelled in both club and high school volleyball. Caitlin played varsity volleyball at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy earning all conference, first team all area, and best defensive player honors. She played club for six years at national renown San Gabriel Volleyball. staff member since 2012 Caitlin played her freshman year at the University of South Carolina, graduating in 2008 with a B.A. degree in history. After college she earned a master’s degree in history from Brooklyn College. She is currently working on a master's degree in teaching. Caitlin lives in Wake Forest and serves as the head coach at Franklinton High School where she earned Northern Carolina Conference Coach of the Year for the 2012 season. Kelly Wood Kelly Wood enters her third season with Triangle after serving as the assistant coach for 18 Blue and 13 White. Currently Wood is the graduate assistant for the NC State Volleyball team. At NCSU, Wood played 3 years as libero and one year as outside hitter/libero while majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in coaching. Wood ended her four-year career in 2011 as NC State’s all-time dig leader with 1,836 digs. She led the Pack in digs with 527 in the 2011 season ranking 2nd on NC State’s all-time single-season record and holds 4th place with 486 digs in 2008. She was a member of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 ACC Academic Honor Roll and was named to the 2008 and 2011 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team. In 2009 Wood was selected to compete with the USA A2 Junior National Team in Europe. She hails from Yadkinville, NC, where she played for Forbush High School and Piedmont Volleyball Club. staff member since 2011 Jeremy Young Jeremy is a native of Hawaii, where he played four years of volleyball at Theodore Roosevelt High School and club volleyball first with Kamali’i Manaloa ‘O Hawaii and then with Lokahi Volleyball Club. Jeremy attended Hillsdale College [MI] and graduated in 2004 with a B.A. in History and Religion. During his time in Michigan he coached both middle and high school volleyball. staff member since 2012 Jeremy moved to the area to seek an M.Ed. degree in School Counseling at UNC Chapel Hill, where he also played club volleyball. Jeremy lives in Cary and currently works as a school counselor at Guy B. Phillips Middle School in Chapel Hill. Last season he served in multiple roles including group 1 resource, assistant coach for 13 White and head coach for 13 Steel at AAUs.
