SUNDAY AFTERNOON MOVIES
Chanukah Celebration
Arts & Crafts Room, 4:00
Monday, December 7, 4:30, Ballroom
Open to All
Nov 1 — “The Grand Budapest Hotel” (R) Between the world
wars, Gustave H, the concierge at a prestigious European hotel,
takes a bellboy named Zero as a trusted protégé. Meanwhile,
the upscale guests are involved in an art theft and a dispute
over a vast family fortune.
Nov 8 — “Still Alice” (R) When 50-year-old linguistics professor Alice Howland begins having trouble remembering words,
her symptoms ultimately lead to a diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer's -- which forces Alice and her family to make radical
changes in their lives.
Nov 15 – “Honor Flight” (PG) Honor Flight is a heartwarming
documentary about four World War II veterans and a community coming together to give them the trip of a lifetime. Volunteers fly thousands of WWII veterans to Washington, DC to see
the memorial constructed for them in 2004, nearly 60 years
after their epic struggle. Join us for a special viewing of this
deeply emotional film. Showing sponsored by SOSTEK, a caregiver referral company.
Nov 22 — “Unbroken” (R) This inspiring tale of survival is
based on the real-life experiences of Louis Zamperini, an American pilot held by the Japanese during World War II. After his
plane crashes into the Pacific Ocean, Zamperini spends 47 days
adrift before his capture.
Nov 29 — “Birdman” (R) Michael Keaton delivers a winking
performance in this dark comedy about a cinematic superhero
trying to forge a comeback with a Broadway play. With none of
the super-powers of his former character, the actor struggles to
rebuild his career and life.
Please join us as we celebrate our seventeenth year of coming
together as a community to observe the Jewish Festival of
Lights. Residents of all faiths are welcome and encouraged to
come witness the lighting of the candles for the second night
of Chanukah and partake in the traditional custom of latkes,
apple sauce, and sour cream.
