SUMMER 2012 PUBLIC INFORMATION SURVEY RESULTS You spoke, we listened! In August, the NorthGate Constructors Public Information team sent out a survey to more than 7,500 DFW Connector commuters and stakeholders asking for input and feedback on project communications. NorthGate was ranked at an 8.1 on a scale of 1 to 10 on communication, and we heard great feedback and suggestions from all those who took the survey. Thanks to your responses, and in order to improve project communications through the next year, NorthGate has implemented the following improvements: Southbound SH 121 bridge to westbound SH 114 traffic switch: Bass Pro Drive International Parkway (to DFW Airport) 1. Visuals. We have added more visuals to all aspects of our outreach. This DFW Airport/ SH 114 includes detour maps for more full highway closures, visuals for all major traffic Eastbound Access switches (pictured top-right), more pictures of project operations, and adding From westbound IH-635: DFW Airport traffic will need the project schematic to our website and social media outlets. to be in the right lane to access southbound 2. The Public Information team will try to be more specific with SH 114 (red). Timeliness. The Public Information team has committed to sending out all lane closure e-alerts between 3 and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, time permitting. We will also work with our crews to ensure timely information on all accidents within our project limits. Finally, NorthGate plans to provide more advance notice on all detours and traffic switches, including visuals for the associated pieces of work. 4. Mobile App. Out of all survey respondents, an average of 69 percent had not downloaded or did not know about the DFW Connector mobile app for Android and iPhone markets. NorthGate is currently in the process of making major improvements to the app, including a re-organization of the home page, additional links and the ability to view all detour maps. Look for the newest version of the mobile app in the coming months! We hope these four main focuses will help all DFW Connector commuters and stakeholders better understand the project and feel more confident driving through the area. Be on the look-out for all of these improvements to our outreach tools, and please contact the Public Information team if you have any questions about the survey.
