Sci-­‐Fi Sci-­‐Fact Robotics Exploration Young Creatives Dance Excellence Media Group Community Connections The Sci-­‐Fi Sci-­‐Fact Project is an online learning program delivered by Brightwater State School in partnership with Brisbane School of Distance Education (BSDE). BSDE offers a range of online extension opportunities called UniFY. The Robotics Exploration Program is lead by the BWSS eLearning Coach in collaboration with QUT. It encompasses a combination of onsite learning with a competition based outcome Young Creatives is an offsite program delivered by the Creative Industries Department of Mountain Creek State High School. The program provides students with an opportunity to extend knowledge and understandings within the science key learning area. It will also provide a great opportunity to experience online learning including the chance to connect with an online teacher. The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about the dynamics of robotics. It also embraces the importance of like-­‐ minded students having the opportunity to showcase their learning. Students will explore the areas of Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Art. They will be encouraged to experiment with new concepts, and enjoy Arts activities in a dynamic learning experience with a mix of professional artists and secondary Arts specialist educators. The Dance Excellence Program is lead by the BWSS Performing Arts Teacher. The Brightwater State School Media Project has been developed in collaboration with The Sunshine Coast Daily and is co-­‐ordinated by The Newspapers in Education Director. Students will be selected for the program by audition. Successful students train for 90 minutes weekly in the styles of ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-­‐hop and musical theatre. Within roles of reporters, photographers and editors, members of the media group have the opportunity to enrich their literacy skills by developing a newspaper page that will be published in the Sunshine Coast th Daily on Tuesday 17 September.
