Unzip “AS_TY**.zip” Step2. Copy the unzipped files into the directory where Ansoft Designer is installed (<ANSYS Designer>). (for both Nexxim and ANSYS Designer) * Delete the folder “<ANSYS Designer>¥userlib¥Taiyo Yuden” if it already exists, before installing current version of the Library. * In case that you use ANSYS 15.0 or 16.0, copy Taiyo Yuden folder to <ANSYS Designer>¥Designer¥userlib (ANSYS 15.0) <ANSYS Designer>¥ElectronicsDesktop¥userlib (ANSYS 16.0) <Unzipped folder> <ANSYS Designer> folder ** Copy the whole folder How to configure Library on Nexxim How to configure Library on Nexxim Step 1 After launching ANSYS Designer, 1. Right-click on the project name (e.g. Project1) in the Project Manager. Select “Insert” > “Insert Nexxim Circuit Design” Then a schematic window will open. Then “Configure Design Library” dialogue box will open. 3. Select the button “User Libraries” and confirm that there is “Taiyo_Yuden” in “Available Libraries” box. 4. Select “Components”. 5. Select “Taiyo_Yuden” folder and move it to “Configured Libraries” using >> button. 6. Repeat Step 4 and 5 for Symbols and Footprints as well. 7. Tick “Save as default” and press “OK”. How to configure Taiyo Yuden Library on Nexxim Step 9 8. Reboot ANSYS Designer. Do the following procedure with schematic window open. 9. Click the component tab, then select User Libraries -> Taiyo Yuden -> SMT Global Control and put it on the schematic. 10. Double click the SMT Global Control to open the property window. 11. Uncheck “Show Hidden” checkbox and click OK button. That’s all for the library configuration. Step 10 Step 11 How to use Library on Nexxim How to use Library on Nexxim - Selecting a component group Step 2 Step 1 To select a component group in the Library, 1. Select “Components” tab of Project Manager. 2. Open Taiyo_Yuden folder in User Libraries and select a component group. How to use Library on Nexxim - Selecting a component You can choose S-parameter or Equivalent model as a simulation model for each element. Double-click on the symbol Click on “Choose Model” button Use “Choose Model” button to select a component of Taiyo Yuden Library. You can select an appropriate one from the data provided for a design as well as the model name. How to use Library on Nexxim - Placing SMT Global Control (only on Nexxim) 1. For an analysis on Nexxim, be sure to put on the schematic a [SMT Global Control] in Taiyo_Yuden. 2. For a transient analysis, tick [Transient_Analysis] in the property of [SMT Global Control]. Then set [Transient_Frequency] value to the fundamental frequency of the signal to be analyzed.
