Geneticist Spencer Wells talks about how his Genographic Project will use this shared DNA to figure out how we are – in all our diversity – truly connected. Spencer Wells studies human diversity – the process by which humanity, which springs form a single common source, has become so astonishingly diverse and widespread. Presented by Olmsted County Public Health, this session will cover tips for healthy eating at work, as well as ways to incorporate physical activity into your work day…even in dress clothes! Presenter: Shaylene Baumbach, Olmsted County Public Health Location: EA241 Title: A Study of RCTC's Developmental Education Programming, Phase I Results Time: 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Audience: Staff and Faculty Description: This session will review the preliminary results from an independent research study of RCTC's developmental education practices. The study explored the relationships among student placement levels, course taking patterns, and success rates (success defined as graduated, retained, or transferred after making good academic progress). The results will be compared to similar studies conducted at other MnSCU colleges and provide an opportunity to consider the effectiveness of RCTC's practices.
