Leavitt’s Requiem deviates from the traditional mass for the dead and instead provides solace for the living, proclaiming “How Can I Keep From Singing?” This is a contemporary and exciting work that will provide our ECM children with an opportunity to see and hear a live orchestra and choir in an intimate setting. It’s a very rhythmic piece of music, utilizing THREE percussionists. I think your whole family will absolutely love this performance! Plus, you and your children will have an opportunity to join our “palm parade” celebrating Jesus’ arrival to Jerusalem. Please join us for this great morning of music and celebration! Children’s Choir Festival and Concert The children’s choirs of Trinity United Methodist Church and St. Elizabeth’s School will be gathering together on Saturday, April 20th for an exciting day of music, fun, and food in preparation for a concert to be presented that afternoon at 2:00. Many of our current and former Early Childhood Music students are now members of Trinity’s Joyful Voices children’s choir and will be singing that afternoon. This would be a wonderful opportunity for our ECM families to attend a live concert in a family-friendly setting. Both choirs will be singing a variety of both sacred and secular music, featuring piano, flute, and maybe even some drums! The concert will take place in Trinity’s historic sanctuary and is sure to be a hit with your kids. Jesus Christ Superstar Trinity’s Drama Ministry will be presenting a 60s-inspired version of the rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, on the weekend of April 26th. This award-winning musical features an intergenerational cast as well as a live rock band and will take place in Trinity’s sanctuary. Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar traces the final days of Jesus and illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit. It features many popular hit songs, such as I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Heaven on My Mind, Hosanna, and the title song, Jesus Christ Superstar. Performances are schedule for Friday and Saturday, April 26th & 27th at 7:00 and again on Sunday, April 28th at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $14 for Adults, $12 for Seniors, and $10 for Students (18 and under). There is also a Family Pack available for $40. You can purchase tickets online at trinityumc.org or seatyourself.biz/trinityumc.
