School Profile
Oconomowoc High School is a
comprehensive high school
(grades 9-12) with approximately
1,500 students. A directing principal,
two associate principals, and an
associate principal/athletic director
form the administrative staff.
Counseling services are provided by
the Counseling Office. The school is
situated in the City of Oconomowoc,
which has a population of
approximately 16,000.
OHS competes in the Wisconsin Little
Ten Conference. The Oconomowoc
area is located in recreational area
between Wisconsin’s capitol city of
Madison (45 miles) and the state’s
largest city Milwaukee (32 miles).
Oconomowoc’s setting allows residents to utilize the advantage of being
part of the greater Milwaukee urban
area and enjoy the rural touches of a
small Wisconsin city. Oconomowoc
High School (OHS) is accredited by
the Wisconsin Department of Public
Instruction.

Class Rank:
Each semester all students at OHS are
compared to other students in his/her
grade by ranking them according to
their cumulative grade point average.
Grade point average is computed by
adding the grade points in all courses
and dividing that total by the number of
attempted credits. We offer all students
the option of being ranked on either a
weighted or non-weighted grade point
system. This option gives students the
opportunity to report ranking information
in the most positive manner available.
This option is not available when OHS
is asked to provide comparative data for
the purposes of identifying students for
an award or recognition. In these
instances the Board of Education has
determined that the weighted scale will
be utilized.
One-half credit is awarded for
successful completion of block
courses meeting daily for one term.
In some courses fractional or
incremental credit is awarded.
Credit is granted for a grade of D- or
higher. Block periods are 90
minutes and classes meet daily for
five periods per week. The school
year of 180 days is divided into two
semester (18 weeks) and four terms
(9 weeks). OHS uses a credit
conversion formula for awarding
credits to transfer students.
OHS awards credit for work
completed at the former school
based upon credits earned during
the time spent at the school.
