PREP ORIENTATION PROGRAM
Welcome to Meadowglen Primary School.
We are delighted you have chosen us to share in the education of your child.
This letter outlines the Prep Orientation Program for your child and yourself.
PURPOSE OF PROGRAM
Children will:
 familiarise themselves with the classroom and school surroundings
 be introduced to some basic routines of the classroom
 have the opportunity to meet and work with other new Prep children
Parents will:
 gain a greater understanding of the requirements of the school
 learn about the school curriculum
 gain a better understanding of how to help their child at home
 be able to organise books and uniform in readiness for next year
Teachers will be able to observe:
 how the children interact with others
 the children’s ability to concentrate, listen and follow instructions
 the children’s fine motor skills, such as cutting, drawing and colouring.
DATES TO REMEMBER:
You and your child are required to attend the four Orientation sessions.
** Only parents attend the Starting School Information evening.

Practical information for parents re
Booklists, starting times and dates, First Day procedure, labelling books and other
property, how you can help at home, at school, and more.
We look forward to seeing both you and your child at our Orientation Sessions starting in
November.
