Projects: “Create a Medical Condition”
• Create a medical “condition” using terms or word parts, at least
3, in any combination
• Include important details:
- Name of the condition (using at least 3 word parts)
- Definition of the word parts
- ID the body system(s) affected by the disorder
- Describe the pathology, effects, etc.
- Describe how it is diagnosed, possible treatment
procedures, and what medical specialists would treat it
(these should be factual possibilities)
- Describe advantages & disadvantages of having this
disorder
• Create visual aid (Poster, PPT, etc.) to use for class presentation

Projects: “Food That Sounds Gross But Isn’t”

A food item to share with the class
Give the food item an alternative name using medical terms
Minimum 3 terms/word parts (in any combination)
Must briefly present the food item to the class and explain
how they came up with it’s alternative medical name
• Must complete a form detailing (in brief):
- The item & it’s alternate term
- Main ingredients (if homemade)
- Allergy Alert (if contains eggs, nuts, or wheat products)
TIPS for Projects
• Individual; could be collaborative
• Use rubric with specific requirements to be met
• Good for Extra Credit assignments
