They are trained to assist the physicians and surgeons in a variety of settings. This includes the operating room, perform medical history and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, compile operative reports, write post operative orders, and manage patients in the surgical and medical intensive care unit and wards. Requirements for Admission: Enrollment is limited. Acceptance is based on student’s academic ability and aptitude for a career as a surgical physician assistant.
